clarkedu,

thats exactly what I told my best friend, I think I can do this now !!! She laughed @ me because she had already been through this last year, her son is a Marine. But it's the sudden not knowing what your child is going through, good or bad, doesn't matter. We have spent all of our lives looking after them and with todays technology, knowing where they are @ all times (within reason). So the quick disconnect from them is hard, the pride of knowing they are doing what is best for their future and our Country....that is what keeps us Mom's going.

Ok so my daughter goes back to Medical tomorrow for her knees. I received 2 letters today and they sounded really positive. She is passing everything except the first PFA (physical fitness assessment). I am praying and thinking positive for her knees to strengthen and finish BC. She said it was getting easier and she has the support of her shipmates. They are all supporting her and encouraging her every step of the way. She has made some lasting friendships. I am very thankful. I am praying that I will hear something soon about her medical visit tomorrow as to graduation or not. Keep those prayers coming and that she is able to pass her PFA's and can work thru this.

Bobbie, all I can say is a resounding  YAY!!!  I am soooo glad that you heard from your son!

My son also rescinded his request for me to cut back to 1 or 2 letters a week. He told me to write and send letters as much as I can!  So, I mailed 2 today plus an envelope containing more band-aids, envelopes, and address labels.

Hrmqueenmel and JLmom, here's a YAY for you too!!!  Isn't this a whole different world than the first 4 weeks of silence!!  NOW I believe we CAN do this! :D

corysnavymom & sistersue - my daughter went in as "undesignated" last year also.  A great group for you to join on here is:

http://www.navyformoms.com/group/momsofundesignatedsailors

it helped me with questions and concerns I had about it.  After BC she stayed at GL and did six weeks of training and then was allowed to come home for two weeks leave.  She then went to Norfolk, VA.
