For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Comment by diannep on August 11, 2015 at 8:19am: Good advice that your son gave you, Stacy, and all of the ladies need to read your post below to make sure they are ready for PIR. Names on the guest list should match names on the ID....meaning, nicknames may be on the list but not on the ID. So make sure your sailors know the correct names to list on the guest lists! Thanks!

I got a surprise call from my sailor tonight at 10. Scared the heck out of me when the 847 number showed up on my phone! Thank God he was just reminding me to make sure his 13 year old brother has his school ID, his sister has her license renwewed and to check to see if I am going by my maiden name so his PIR list was correct. Took me awhile to recover from the initial scare. Was great to hear his voice! Can't wait to see him! We are so close ladies!!! Almost single digits! :)

Good luck to all SRs on their final PFAs, the gas chamber (ugh) and Battle Stations. My blue candle will be burning non stop while I'm awake for all our recruits until I leave for Great Lakes!

Just be sure to confirm during the I'm a Sailor call that he updated his list, which they are allowed to do right before PIR. They should have the updated guest lists at the gate.
