Anyone from 04/819 receive a letter yet?

Yes, Lala.  I wondered the same thing as I knew that Southwest doesn't charge change fees, but didn't know if an international flight affected that policy.

I always wanted to go to Japan. My Ex-husband was born there. He was an Air Force Brat and lived there until he was 6 yrs old. He had a Japanese nanny and he spoke more Japanese than English but he forgot it all when he moved to the states. The building that held all the medical records for the military there burned down several years ago (before everything was on computer) and it was almost impossible to get a copy of his birth certificate after he ruined in a flood. My Sailor had planned on going to Japan but then got married in A-school and that changed everything lol.

JapanMom, I have heard that Southwest doesn't charge a change fee so it is good that they are the ones with the specials. I am not sure if that is true for international flights as well. I imagine it is very expensive so I hope you find a great deal.

Diannep-we live in NAF Atsugi.  We were stationed at Yokosuka before for 4 years.  Love Japan and it is a great place to raise kids!

JapanMom:  I know this will be an extra special trip for you coming all the way from Japan and being a Navy wife....Where is your husband stationed in Japan?  I have a friend whose son is on the Essex.  Another whose son is in Okinawa.  So glad you got your letter.  Hoping that more ladies from 287 will join your discussion group soon!

Now to make flight arrangements.  Saw Southwest is running specials.  I just need to pray that my son's BC goes smoothly and he graduates on time as I have to buy an international flight that I will not be able to change without a huge penalty.  I am so excited!

we made plans to stay through the weekend, so *fingers crossed* that we'll get some time with him. Will they at least have liberty for a few hours after they grad on Thursday???
