Thank you, diannep!  Not sure that I have admin access yet, and if I do, just need some direction on changing the group title.  I only see and option to "Invite" at the top of the page...no admin options. Help! Thank you!

The first mail call is usually after they have been there for about 2 weeks.  That is because they must train the SR mail petty officer to handle the mail...since this is a "federal job."  You may actually have your letters "cross" in the mail...and the one from your SR says:  Why haven't you written?  Then you panic that he/she has not received your letters!  Just know that they will get them "all in a bunch" when mail calls start.  In the beginning of training, they are usually allowed to write on Sundays, but get other days added after that.  So look for mail in the beginning to be arriving at your houses maybe from Wed-Fri. My mail day was Thurs when my son was there (in S. FL).

Ladies, here are your division numbers for this group:

TG (Training Group) 42  Div 281-290, 818, 819, 942

Hoping that very proud or divermom can add them to the title of the group so it reads:

PIR 09/01/2011  TG 42, Div 281-290, 818, 819, 942

In the meantime, I started a discussion group just so the division numbers are towards the top of the page.  No need to respond to it...just wanted to post the numbers for you all.  Odd to have two 800 divisions in the same PIR group, but good news is that they will be brother divisions!  800 and 900 divisions rarely have brother divisions until there are two of them in the same PIR group.

Once the division numbers are posted in the title of the group, I will delete the division number discussion group.

The Ramada lost power last week after a bad storm earlier in the week...they were shuffling to get all of their PIR guests into other hotels and helped them to move the MeetNGreet for 7/15.  I'm sure that was a difficult task!

By the way, most of the hotels are within about 4-5 miles of RTC.  Only about a 10 minute shuttle ride to RTC.  Remember....please book early since this is a holiday weekend.  Larger suites are at places like Residence Inn Waukegan.  Remember...families will be coming in to visit their students at A School also, so there will be lots around that weekend.

Those flying Southwest should book now also...since no change fee.  Holiday weekend=lots of travel for lots of people!

@jjkersey
It's 4 miles and they have an included shuttle service to RTC (and they have a meet-n-greet the night before with drinks and hors'devours - or however you spell the word that means nice little snacks).

That should be push"ups"...
Comment by FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW on July 16, 2011 at 10:14pm
jjkersey-that is correct...NO last names whatsoever...first names ARE allowed but most of us discourage the use of them. The RDC's read these posts and if you have a picture of your SR (seaman recruit-SR is what we use instead of their first name.) And then post their name they can match them up. There have been plenty of stories of SR being "found out"... one had to do 5 push his every time his mom posted...others have had "not pretty"outcomes. Also, this is a public forum and ANYONE on the net can read these posts
When you friend someone and send private messages, those ARE private between you and the recipient...so names are okay there...but I try to be careful there too.
