Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

I was surprise there for a while to be getting letters about 3 times a weeks so its kind of been my fault for getting my hopes up and expecting to still get them, I originally just got one on thursdays bc he would send it on sundays, so fingers crossed ill get another then.. i just reached my 6 month mark of pregnancy so ky hormones and emotions are a roller coaster and I find myself worrying a lot, but thank yall very much for the advice! m

Comment by FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW on August 28, 2012 at 7:53pm: Sorry I haven't been on...turns out I think I actually had a reaction to some medication...edema and inflammation...hence why my back was hurting so much. I stopped taking it and am much better...just tired and getting "back to normal"...I am trying to catch up on here! I will have to tend to the 10/12 group first and then will be back to read on here.

Prayers for those in the path of the hurricane...:-(

Comment by diannep on August 28, 2012 at 6:31pm: robin: Try and go on the NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS when you don't hear anything. That is the theme of bootcamp. If the letters were mailed out yesterday, they may take a couple of days to get there...so hoping you get one soon!
