Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

I know that your SRs will also be participating in this PIR. If you can tell me what part they are, flags, honor guard, band ect, I will try to take some pics to share with you all & maybe you'll get an early glimpse of your SR! A wonderful mom from last weeks PIR did this for me & it was wonderful! Just inbox or firend request me!

Comment by Katvando on August 23, 2012 at 7:04pm: i guess that would be why the tears keep coming, talking to my boss today (son is marine reserves) and telling her about the expected phone call on Wednesday (can't get the time off to be at home with hubby so he can talk to) and it was hard to keep it together. I know I am going to be crying on the 6th and the 7th and probably the 8th when she leaves for Pensacola (but thankfully she will have her cell phone and computer and we will again be able to talk!!
