You guys are at that point where the letters will really start to come in. I think most of them were probably able to write this past Sunday and if not this coming Sunday for sure. Wednesdays and Thursdays are the best days for letters depending on where you live. I am in NC and my letters came on Thursdays. So get your stalking shoes ready and be prepared because your mailman is goingt o think you have lost your mind lol. I know one mom who paid a neighbor kid to check her mail each day and call her on her cell to let her know what had arrived. Another mom bought a device to put in the mail box that would alert her inside the hose when any mail was put inside. Navy Moms/Wives etc are anxiously waiting and are not afraid to take desperate measures lol. So I am hoping and praying and crossing my fingers that this week will a great letter week for all of you. Just remember, those first letters are sometimes a little down. They may be homesick or wondering what they got themselves into but you will be able to tell from their letters that it does get better each week. You will see them go from the kid who left home to a proud US Navy Sailor walking tall and strong at PIR. Hang in there :-)

Sharbear - I know it's awful to sit and wait.  My sailor only made the 1st 30 second call and then the I'm a sailor call.  It was awful to hear about others receiving calls.  He said a lot of times they lost phone priviledges for 1 reason or another.  He also had watch duty when they made a phone call - so many reasons.  I worried a lot, but he was fine.  AND  like they will keep telling you until you are sick of it - NO news is good news!

Sharbear, my heart goes out to you...   I too sit and wonder every minute.  I cant even get work done at the office because I feel like being on this site is my only strength!!!  Sending positive thoughts and love.

Sharbear: We haven't received a letter yet either. I think that the ones that have are from lower/earlier divisions. Cody said that they weren't able to write until this past Sunday and it can take 5-10 days to get mail (although other Moms have said Thursday is a great day for letters.)

Keep the faith. If anything was wrong we would know. They are taking great care of our SRs, and although it is tough for them (and us) now, it is in preparation for great things to come. I know how hard this is for you. I still spend a lot of time crying because I miss mine so much. But everyday brings us closer to PIR. We will all be sitting in the same room - with each other and our Sailors. :) My prayers are with you until then (less than 37 days!)  :)

Very possible, sharbear.  It is very possible he missed a call due to having a dental procedure done.  They have to spread out these dental procedures (some even have them done at the end of bootcamp).  So many SRs....so many wisdom teeth to take out!  :-)

By the way, it is always hard for those on here who have not received letters yet, but read the other happier posts.  But your day will come so please stay here!  There are so many reasons why they haven't written....but eventually most do.  Hoping that you have some contact with him soon!

And yes, it does get easier!  It really does!  And A School is wonderful...you are back in contact with them.  So hang in there!

So if he didn't call and he was in dental 2 days ago that means he had work done? I think he said at one point he thought he was getting his wisdom teeth but I don't know if they came in.

Sharbear, said a prayer that you would find relief from your anxiety. NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS can be an awful slim lifeline, I know. {{ hugs}}

My son was set back two weeks, but his first group had dental on day 3-2.  Those not having dental got to call home and the ones having dental called home 2 days later.  Hope this helps.

Sharbear~ I think dental is week 2 or 3 of training so she may be right :)

I don't know if this is a clue as to where they are but someone posted on my sons wall that she seen my son yesterday.  She is on medical hold and was in the dental building.  She said she assumes hes in the dental stages but that can't be right because I thought that happened right away in the beginning?  He got there on the 12th.  Just throwing that bit of info out there because it may mean something   :)
