NC1 had told me on several different occasions that if I don't get a letter, now not the form I didn't know anything about that, he can call the drill Sargent and make sure I get a letter. They can contact the drill sergeants whenever they want. They want the SR's to write home. I'm not doing it, don't want to see him having to do pushups or running extra miles......YET....lol. In ALL the letters I write him, I inquired about the form letter so he'll get the point and know I'm waiting. Like EMS mom, I hope he's grown up and gets that out. I will wait and be happy for all of you receiving them :)

Sharbear36:
maybe Spencer is waiting until he has time to write you a real letter with it. The only thing that let me know it was actually from Cody was his writing in the blanks. (Dear_____). Or shall I say the new improved version of his writing. Nice, neat block letters. Spencer also has to choose who to invite before sending it. I'm sure you'll receive it soon.

Dianne- what is asmoed?  So he is taken out of training?  This is all new and as you know the phone call was 10 seconds long so I don't understand it all yet.

Comment by diannep on July 23, 2012 at 6:23pm

Wait, sharbear....calling the "drill sargent?"  Who the heck is that?  I'm assuming he was joking...or meant the RDC (Recruit Division Commander)?  Wouldn't even KNOW how to call that person!   HA!  Thinking that most if not all of these letters will "show up" for you all!

Momof5:  Yes, getting that news today makes for a rough day...been there, done that.  I actually stayed mad at mine during the whole week he was asmoed, but was singing from the rooftops when he called to say he had resumed training.  "The sun will come out tomorrow..."  Things will get better.

That's what I was told by NC1. Wanna bet who has the biggest procrastinator? I bet I win unfortunately, I should have known and your welcome for the laughs and I'm just glad I can still laugh but who said I didn't stalk the mailbox our follow the mailman.....lol
Comment by happyfeet(ship 09/Div 288) on July 23, 2012 at 6:18pm

Really?? The SRs mail it out?? Im in deep doo doo!

Comment by Momof5 on July 23, 2012 at 6:17pm

@lala- that is a funny story and like I said I know I will laugh later- but today it is pretty raw.  I feel like I was robbed of two weeks with him.  I am irritated that he made such a dumb mistake- it will get better- just a bad day.

Comment by jlamommy on July 23, 2012 at 6:16pm

sharbear, thanks for the laugh :) if only these kids knew how important these letters are to us.... I am sure you will get it in the next few days! Its like watching a pot waiting for it to boil! Same as us stalking the mail man I guess :)

I just called his recruiter, well one of them and he told me that he could call the drill Sargent tmo to give him a nudge to send it. I instantly replied NOOOOO because I know he will see grief. I don't want to do that to him so I will patiently wait until tmo.....lol. They are given them and its their responsibility to get it out. I see my son is still being a procrastinator......ugh. I thought it maybe was something they all did and sent them out but noooo they gave them an option, if its anything like school, I'll get it 2 days before graduation that little s**t.....lol
