~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I joined this PIR group because my son's recruiter told me this would be his graduation date as long as he stuck to the schedule.  But I am thinking he was wrong.  It seems like most everyone is posting their loved ones arrived the 16th and 17th.  My son just arrived on the 23rd.  I haven't received his box or any letters yet.  Do you think I am in the wrong group?  PS....I love the countdown clock and weather forecast!  I am crossing my fingers I belong her because I don't want to push it back a week.

"@jdsmom... My SR arrived on the 16th and still no form letter. I did receive the box on Monday and I'm with you on the patience. Hang in there.."

Finally got my form letter today! My husband is division 944. I'm a little worried I might forget something when setting up my travel and stay. Yikes!

Hello all :-)

Does anyone have a SR going to Missouri for A school after graduation?

Comment by blessedmom 09div341 on July 25, 2013 at 7:05pm

Dear ellen: thank you for this valuable information. I was thinking my SR was going to be able to stay overnight with us. Still we are going to be with him 3 days.

thank you.

Has anyone with a SR that arrived on the 17th received their form letter yet? Just curious. Patience is not a virtue of mine.

Your sailors have to report back to base each night, they cannot stay overnight.

For those with sailors staying in GL for A School. They will have about an hour after PIR before they have to report back to their ship and move over to the other side (TSC) for A School. This processes will take several hours and they will call you when they can leave for liberty. Make sure you answer every phone call as another sailor may let them borrow their cell phone.

They will have until approx 10pm with you on Friday night. Make sure you get them back early as they cannot be late.

On Sat and Sun they will also have liberty from approx 6am to 10pm. These times can vary even between ships, and your sailor will have been briefed on times etc. before he leaves.

If any of you are on Facebook, U.S Navy Recruit Training Command has posted random pictures of boot camp.  I am not sure if any of our SRs are in the pictures, but I could swear I found my son!  LOL!

CatMom: Do you know if my SR will be able to stay at the Hotel with us friday and saturday night?

Yes it would be a blessing for us to see him and spend more time with him.

thank you!!
