Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Cassie'sMom: Since your daughter could actually become a sailor as late as PIR morning, some will "chance it" if they hear nothing during PIR week.....they will head to PIR hoping that their new sailor's name is on the list....if not, you will not get in...but if so....celebrate! But hoping it doesn't come down to the last minute for you....if she makes it to BattleStations, she will pass, trust me!

Cassie'sMom: Here is the FIT group....please join it. That is where she is working hard to pass her run. It is not a terribly active group, but there are a couple of N4Moms veterans on there who experienced this....post your questions there and see if you can get more answers:

Cassie'sMom: Do NOT cancel your trip! She gets more chances....not sure if she will run tomorrow again....but she should....if she doesn't pass, she will run again on Monday and even on Wednesday if need be. So hang on to those reservations. Hoping you get an I'm a Sailor call from her early next week! RTC does ask that you not go to GL if you do not get another call from her saying she is a sailor. However, if she passes on Wed morning, she won't do BattleStations until Thurs night. She would be at PIR on Friday, but in the balcony most likely, too tired to march after being up all night....so....let's hope she gets the run done by Monday morning, and is a sailor by Tues morning!

I received a call from my SR she failed her final run... what happens now? Should I reschedule our trip? I don't know what to do. The phone call barely lasted a minute
