Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

for
~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

We might expect letters this week if our SRs earned the right to send them and receive them. the first Sunday is not a letter writing day. letters can only be written on Sundays by our SRs
CJDA: Springhill is 4.7 miles from RTC according to Googlemaps. We saw it when there, it is only a 10 min drive to RTC. Very easy. All of the hotels I listed below are very close to each other, near a large Walmart Center with restaurants in the shopping center.
MamaofaSailor: So glad that you checked directly with Navy Lodge....that is what others have advised people to do. It will show no occupancy online but rooms may be available. So everyone....please google the 847 number to Navy Lodge Great Lakes if you wish to stay there and call them directly for your reservation. If they happen to fill up, keep calling back as they get cancellations.
For those interested in staying elsewhere, there are several hotels near Sarge's MeetandGreet (held the night before PIR for sailor's families), only 4-5 miles from RTC.
You call each of these hotels directly also and ask for the Navy Graduation discount. Here they are:
Springhill Suites, Residence Inn (good for large groups since they have 2 bdrm 2 bth, full kitchen, living room sleeper sofa suites...we stayed there....very nice), Courtyard, and Holiday Inn Express. All of these are good hotels! You can use Sarge's shuttle or the local shuttle service (book at the hotel front desk) to PIR if you want to. You can book Sarge's at his MeetandGreet or from his personal page on here (look up OLD SARGE under the MEMBERS tab up top).
Kory....: Sure hope that form letter comes soon and clears this all up!
