for
~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Ellen0502: thanks, but that's exactly right- I did know this, but was hoping someone could tell me what the heck. . LOL. Thanks any way for trying. I'm sure the form letter will arrive in the next couple of days, just getting anxious.
Just thought I would share- The first time I called the Navy Lodge this morning....I was transferred the Reservations Worldwide and told there was no availability. However, I called the Great Lakes location again just a little bit ago to double check and was told they have over 60 rooms available. I just booked our room for the 9/18 PIR online and it was very easy. Hope this helps someone!
Kory&Joshuasmom, Let me help. :)
Ship 13 is his ship number, the next four numbers are the building number assigned to his ship. You don't need or use that number. The R2015 designates the year.
The 279 I would indicate he is in division 279 with the I standing for integrated division, but you are correct his division number cannot be 270 or 279 if he reported last week. Besides that neither division 270 or 279 are in ship 13.
I have a sneaky feeling, and a pretty good guess that the recruiters info is wrong. :)
Wait for the form letter, or you can call the recruiter back and ask again. It is always possible that the recruiter just plain has wrong information, it happens.
Stay in this group for now, and when you get the form letter you can always jump ship and catch a ride on the next one if this is not the right one. :)
Hello all! I called the Navy Lodge today and was told they are booked for 9/17 and 9/18. Has anyone else experienced this, if so where are you looking to stay?
Does anyone know how close the Springhill by Marriott is from the RTC?
Silly question...my son's recruiter tried to give me his address. The Division makes no sense to me at all, though...still waiting on form letter- he was just trying to be helpful. I know 270 isn't correct- he only arrived last week 7/27.....here is what he gave me:
Ship 13 (7112) Div. R2015 279 I
Has anyone received an actual letter yet? I received our form letter last week, but I haven't received an actual letter from my SR yet
