N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Hey, here's an LES question for the group.  I was checking our SR's pay this morning (God Bless NFCU for depositing a day early) and it was TINY.  So my question is regarding the initial uniform allowance.  Do they take the clothing fee out of his pay and THEN reimburse him the following pay, or does the transaction show the money going in and coming out on the same LES cycle?

Lala,

Great to hear those cute flying bunnies aren't bothering your mom anymore!  Yayy for the medical adjustment!

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on August 29, 2013 at 9:15am

Good morning everyone, thanks so much for all the thoughts and prayers and support for me and my family. My mom is feeling better and acting more normal now. They released her from the hospital last night and we are happy to have her home. Her heart medication dosage was way too high and was part of the problem of her hallucinations and when you combine that with too much carbon dioxide you have one very loony acting person. Poor thing was reaching in the air for bunny rabbits that could fly and was talking to people who were not there. I honestly thought we were loosing her. It is amazing the difference some good doctors and a few days can make. So I appreciate all of you very much. I am so happy I decided to stick around and become a volunteer mentor on this group. You all are my extended Navy Family <3

Ladies, if you have received BattleStations dates from your SR, can you please friend request the info to me ?  I keep schedules for each PIR group, and then post them in the BattleStations discussion group above....AFTER each division goes through.  We cannot post them prior to that, but can private message the dates to each other.  RTC's rule on that one!  We used to be allowed to post a schedule on here, up until about 2 yrs ago, so I was doing that....but RTC wants you all to practice OPSEC and consider BattleStations "ship deployment" so no info posted publicly "before the fact."   I will post on the schedule in the BattleStations discussion after each division goes through.

We got mail today. I love Wednesdays! My SR said his Div received a BZ on Marlinspike. I'm assuming that means they passed with flying colors. He seems to be doing really well and his shoulder injury is healed. Tomorrow is his 19th birthday so I am prepared to be a mess.

Hmmmm.....good question.  My guess is "no" but not sure.   So ---Aug 31st falls on Sat, so banks will post deposit on Fri.  I believe NFCU will also since they normally would pay on the 30th anyway.

Comment by PrayingNavyMomsHusband on August 28, 2013 at 10:17pm

Howdy.  Even though it has only been a few weeks, with some good guidance and sleuthing on the net, we may just not have as many questions - which is a good thing.  However, since you asked if pay day falls on a weekend and the sailors get paid on the preceding Friday, do you know if NFCU still posts it a day early (Thursday)?
