N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

@CatMom509...Thank you so much this info helps me alot.  My daughter and I had put some stuff aside before she left for great lakes, will I be allowed to give her another bag or do these items have to fit in her Navy issued bag?

JELLSMOM,

You should write your daughter to ask her what she would like you to bring of her comfy underwear, bras, a couple of shirts.  She will definitely want her cell phone, cell phone charger, laptop, and laptop adapter cord.  Also, bring a comfy change of clothes for her to relax in the hotel room with you after she has taken her long, luxurious, private shower.  My daughter wanted to shave her legs, so we got a disposable shaver and shave cream from the hotel.  You will have to bring all the items that she wants to take to her A school to the airport to give to her to put into her black backpack that the Navy gave her.  Maybe include a couple of favorite treats that she can only get from your area.  Have driver's license, state id, school id with photo (or birth certificate & social security card) for younger ones to obtain an airport gate pass to be able to see your Saior off at the gate and run around to the food places/gift shops with them!

Good afternoon all, I have some questions that I am not sure about, hope someone can help me =).

My daughter is set to go to A school in Pensacola after PIR, can we take her some of her personal clothes to PIR that she can take to school? Like her phone, laptop, her own underclothes etc?  Or when is she allowed to have these items again?

Thanks!

LALA. Dealing with my mother in law that's 95.
Sounds like how she gets when she has a UTI(urinary
tract infection). Disoriented and hallucinations in
elderly with UTI are very common.

Lala,
Praying for you and your family.

Prayers for all, Lala!  Be sure to check the meds they have her on....those can create havoc in the elderly especially.  Happened to my mom (she took herself off all of them and was fine after that)...and happened to my son's grandfather in law just recently....acted totally irrational until he told them he was not taking any of his meds anymore...she said he is absolutely fine now.  So be vigilant!  I'm sure you are....  :-)

Good Morning All !

So happy for those who got calls yesterday and I hope many more get them today :)

They are taking my Mom to the hospital so I am leaving to go meet them there. She was acting all loonie yesterday, seeing people who weren't there asking my day and Cory why they were using the front door instead of the back, no one ever uses the back. Just completely not making any sense at all. Usually when she gets like this it means she is not breathing out and has too much carbon dioxide and it gets to her brain. Please keep her in your prayers.

You are very welcome, tidbittsb!  We all love helping here!

Diannep, I cannot thank you enough for your information and support.  I am not at all worried about the last run as I know he has it now... and his confidence in his voice knows it too.  For those of us who are experiencing the Navy for the first time in our lives, it is people liek you who help us through it.  Thanks.... sappy tibbittsb!
