N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Can someone give me the link I will need to see the live stream of the 9/20 PIR.  This proud grandmother will not be able to attend but I certainly want to watch it and hopefully see my sailor!

Yes, Kedj:  They do return to their ships after PIR.  If they are flying out for A School and therefore staying at RTC until later that night, you can leave with them for Liberty after they return from their ships (can take 15 min - 30 min).  So, yes, they would ride the shuttle back with you.

If moving over to A School there in GL, that will happen shortly after PIR and you pick them up on that base a few hours later.  In that case, take the shuttle back to the hotel and wait for their call (they won't have their cell with them yet, so they will need to use their phone card or borrow a cell from a student already there at A School).

ellen tells people that you may want to make your way back to the A School base around 3 or so .... that way, you may be able to see them march up to the gate.  Her son is in A School there.

Still trying to figure out if we should take a shuttle or drive over for PIR. I'm wondering about after. They get the liberty call, but then have to go back to their barracks to pack up, correct? So do the shuttles wait for the sailors, or do we have to leave, go back to the hotels, and then return to pick them up?
