N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I think your SR's will love getting those picture collages!! I really need to start shopping for some cute Navy Mom shirts, any ideas? Johnette - can you do bling shirts too? I will have to get my family in Cali to do some Navy shopping for me too then, lol :)

I make shirts and can personalize them for you. You just have to give me plenty of notice to get them made and sent to you. PM me if interested!!

I love the idea too! We did a river trip for my Sons going away & 5 of his best buddies came along. Now I can send him those pics in a collage.

I was thinking of wearing my "PROUD NAVY MOM" bling top to Sarge's Meet & Greet. I've bought a few other things for PIR. My daughter & I were at the mall last weekend & they had some cute things, anchors & navy blue are huge right now (at least here in Cali) .

ChristinaMarie, that is an awesome idea! I didn't think of that, I think I will make one of those too :) Thank you for sharing.

Good Morning Everyone!  Thank you for the info on the shirts, I was wondering about that myself.  I have read that a lot of family members just wear Navy Pride shirts/sweatshirts to PIR until they can get a Division Shirt as well... Hoping for a letter today but I am anticipating it may be tomorrow before it arrives.  I sent my son a picture collage in Word which is really easy to do and you can fit A LOT of different pics on one sheet. Mine included about 20 different pictures and he loved it!  :)

Just found out last night that we will be arriving late Thursday night, my husband has to be at a training for his job that day and we can't leave til he is done.  So we wont get to leave PA till around 5 with around 7 hours a head of us.. ugh  Why when you want to do things is there always a kink in the plan.  So I will not get to any of the Meet and Greets.

PaMom:  There is a division tshirt, designed by your SRs, that will be available for purchase after PIR (I believe you can order them Monday after PIR).  Your SRs can order them before that and many will order them for family members--so check with your SR first.

If you are talking of wearing it to PIR, it won't be ready so in that case, you can design your own!
