Jane, congrats on yomur sailor's orders. He will love San Diego, it is beautiful there.
Reenie, happy dreams!
Wow, 3 more days and my son will be home. I still have to do grocery shopping, pantry is empty (as far as Seby will see it) and I have not yet decorated inside. Hubby has outside done. Just needs to finish painting the fence. Where does the time fly off to?
Jane-that is wonderful that your son got San Diego. We live in California so when my son finally gets done with his school we are hoping that he gets San Diego.
Reenie-so glad Steph is settling and is happy.
Didn't talk to him last night but hopefully he will call tonight. How is Steph?
So happy to read about our sailors and the next step in their journeys. I am so excited for all.
Eileen - congrats on your son getting Japan, awesome.
Tiffs Mom - great package.
Only 3 more days, woo hoo. I can't say on FB which is why I don't answer too much when everyone is doing the countdown. Seby told everyone he is coming home on the 20th as he wants to surprise his GF. So hard for me to keep quiet. We had the school Christmas show today and my kindergarten group sang We Wish You A Merry Christmas in English. They were adorable and did great. They only practiced 3 days as the teacher got the date of the show mixed up. I can post a picture here of kids as it is secure, but not on FB. I have one more activity in school tomorrow and finished for the year. Now I have to get snapping and decorate inside. Nothing like waiting until the last minute but have been doing things one step at a time.
How long did it take the package to get there? My post office said they shouldn't take too long, I hope not, because I snuck in some candy canes in there too :( Well, she may just have a belated christmas! :)
Don't take my name off the list, I like sending things and want to send more to the others too! :)
The cereal in the box I'm sure she can't get milk for, but if she's like my kids, she will just eat it out of the box! LOL So I tried to send "sweet" ones hahaha I sent Tiffany two boxes of stuff like this and she's trying to hurry and eat it all or they have to throw it away, It doesnt' look like much to me, but I guess when you get down to snacking, maybe it is hahahaha oh well, Steph can share! :)
Wow Sharon, great looking packages!!!!
Very early morning here for me. Sailor arrives home tonight!!! Didn't sleep very well. I guess I'm more excited than I thought. He will spend some time in the recruiter's office to earn back some of his leave time. Family will gather Christmas Eve at his cousin's house and then Christmas day here at home. He reports to San Diego on the 31st. Ship will deploy sometime after that. There is a FB page for his ship plus I have been on their web site. With some of our Sailor's getting their orders, we as their families at home need to be ready, too. This is why they went in and now most of them will be on their way to the Real Navy. It's what they trained for. I am so happy for those who are on their way and that includes my Sailor. He was 4 1/2 months old when his dad deployed so it has been almost 19 years since I have had to deal with a deployment. Back then I worked a full-time job, took care of everything at home, somehow managed not to go insane. Communication is different now and I should be able to hear from my Sailor often. Ships have email and FB to keep me informed and they post pictures every day. I hope everyone will have a fantastic holiday.
Eileen-check the Japan Mom's web site. They seem to be a great group of women. Even if you don't join them, you can keep up with what is happening over there. Sound like a trip to Japan may be in your future.
Sharon-I'd like to have that box of goodies. She will love it. And appreciate it, too. Looks like I'll be doing letter writing and goodie sending soon.
