Reenie and LTLY - what a great name. You are too much. This is going to be so much fun, can't wait until we get it "launched". Our sailors will think we are all crazy when they see us starting to shake and move. My son always asks me how all my N4M are. He knows how much you all mean to me and your sailors. He says he has alot of sisters and brothers - cool. lol

reenie and LTLY-what a great name!!!! Made me laugh. Keep us all updated. Sailor thinks he will be deploying early next year.

Elaine. WOW it's a mall world. I grew up in Md., was born in D.C. I went to the U of Md, met a friend from Tx and moved here in 1976. I got a job teaching and decided to stay. I go home a couple of times a year if I can. My dad has cancer so I try to see him as much as I can. Don't know how much longer he will be around. I was there about a month ago. There is another Navy mom that lives here in my area that grew up in Glen Burnie, near the Harundale mall. Again, small world.

txsailorsam-I have a sister and her family and a brother and his wife that live in Pasadena, my brother works at the Naval Academy as a civilian and I have a sister and her family that live on the Eastern Shore. My nieces, my brother's girls, also live on the Eastern Shore. I grew up in Glen Burnie and my mom has lived in the same house for over 52 years. I was six weeks old when my parents, older sister and brother and I moved in. The family added 2 more babies after me. Whenever we drive up there we get off I-95 north of Richmond and come in the back way on 301. I love that drive as I can slow down a little and when we (Sailor and I) were driving it last year the snow in the fields was so pretty and looked liked icing on a cake. No footprints of any kind. Makes me appreciate Texas and the fact that we don't have to shovel snow or worry too much about salt and sand ruining our cars. The last time I lived in Maryland was from 1987 to February 1991. We then went to San Diego, Sailor was born there, and when other half retired we came here to Texas. I don't mind the cold of Maryland, just the snow.

Elaine... I was in Md when it snowed one of the times last year. My family is in Annapolis, Crofton and Eastern Shore. It was enough snow for me to be glad I don't have to deal with it on a regular basis.

Morning all-it is cold here in North Texas today.
gcmb-we don't know yet whether he will go back to GL after the New Year or not. Should know by tomorrow (Monday). May have to change travel plans and tickets. He says if he reports from here and doesn't go back to GL, he really doesn't have much to move. Some of the guys from his class are also going to the same place he is so if they travel together I would feel better but if I can have him home for a couple of extra days I won't complain.

txsailorsam-my family is all in Maryland so when we go home each year for Christmas there is always the chance for snow. Last year, the day before we were leaving to drive up there, they got 18-24 inches of snow. I waited an extra day to leave and by the time we got up there the main roads were clear. I hadn't seen snow like that in probably 20 years. By the time we left Maryland, it had warmed up and rained and most of the snow was gone. Sailor says he will definitely not miss winter in GL.

Everyone have a great day.

Elaine... congrats to your sailor. SF would not have done well with the GL's cold, he too, being a Texas boy. He's never seen snow and really doesn't want to. Ikind of like it without the wind and of course the shoveling.
