txsailorsam-he will be on board ship. Is looking forward to getting out of the cold in GL :). Born in San Diego and raised in Texas did not prepare him at all for winter in Illinois. Says the wind is the worst part, just blows right through him. They had 4 inches of snow overnight. He will graduate OS A school on Friday and is to report to his ship in January. He is excited to be getting to the fleet and ready to move on to the next phase of this life they call the Navy.

Afternoon everybody-Sailor got his orders. He will be in San Diego. I am so thankful for that, especially since that is where he was born. He remembers nothing about being there because we left there when he was 15 months old. We still have friends there so hopefully they will take him under their wing.
Hope everyone is well and doing fine.

Wow!!! took me a long time to catch up.... Im going to try to do better at keeping up... Ive been so busy working and redoing kitchen...Ive yet to try to catch up in the other forum (corpsman moms).. this is my priority site... :>).......
Kurt got his order for C School yesterday.... I think he called it surgical tech in San Antonio Tx....... I was happy that he got his first choice... there was only a few openings.. but thank goodness is GPA is high....

those that asked I had to put Kurts announcement in local paper along with picture. i just emailed it to them ... looked great...ill do same with his A school accomplishments. in fact the owner of paper goes to church with me and he told me to always send updates of grad of schools and all and he will put it in paper..Our local DQ and also church's have military walls.. so locals can see who our local military is and to pray for them and all... alot of people tell me when i run into them how much they appreciate kurt and his fellow sailors. its really sweet.. sometimes i cry when i think of how much the sacrifics are.. right now my son in law is really down missing his family so much my daughter said this cruise has been really hard.. I pray for strength for him this next month..Christmas is really going to be tough Im thankful kurt will at least be here....
well done worked myself up in tears again... its just a sad time for me and i know others too... Im keeping tammy and her family in prayer for their loss.. will check in later.....

Good morning all. Hope everyone's holiday planning is moving along smoothly. I am just getting starting. Always behind. lol Hubby finished painting the front of house so he is hanging lights as I type.

LTLY love the new picture of sailor girl on here. The page looks beautiful now. Thank you, you are a great leader.

Thank you Sharon for sharing the snow pictures. If I wait for my sailor it will be spring thaw.

Just a quick note - my sailor was flying yesterday as he was told he was accepted into the "C" school he wants and that one of the guys that went through BC with him and is now in "A" school with him will be going to the same school and be in the same class again. Woo hoo! I am so proud of him. Please everyone keep him in your prayers that he is able to maintain his average and not lose out on this opportunity. Thanks.

@Reenie- tell me more about this alumni group thing...and the "adopt a sailor" part of it. Would it just be for our PIR alumni?

Sharon, I got a txt from Kevin that looks like that! He is going to some volunteer thing to help a nearby town decorate for Christmas...he was looking forward to it until he looked outside!

Ok, I didn't delete all of the discussions, mostly bc when we were in BC I would go to other groups and look at their previous discussions to see if I found anything helpful. I did just display 1 of the most recent discussion, and if anyone needs to go back to the others, just click "view all"

Sharon, that is awesome of the family to send you pics and a note!!! :)

@Maureen- Kevin flies in on the 17th. My mom is coming up to stay with the kids that night so me and him can go stay downtown for the night. And we are throwing a surprise Christmas party the next day...when we get back home all his family and friends will be here to welcome him home! This way he can see more of who he wanted to and I don't have to share him too many days, lol!
He will be home until the 31st!
