Reenie-something I have been meaning to ask, but keep forgetting. Have you heard what your daughter does with her time other than freeze in her bunk? What "job" has she been given on the ship? Does she enjoy the tasks she is being given, etc?

Morning all-got a text from Sailor yesterday that they got a little snow in GL. A mom on FB posted a couple of pictures of Sailors sweeping it around and having a good time. Praying there will be no travel problems for the kids leaving on the 17th to go home and see their families for the holidays. Hope everyone has a fantastic day.

Reenie-congratulations on the big win. That must have been so exciting!

Hello all. Ariel gets transferred to A school tomorrow and will stay in GL.

Reenie -- So how do the sailors communicate with family/friends while on the ship? Was Steph able to take most of her personal belongings? It sounds like they should try to keep personal items to a minimum with them moving around alot and having limited space. I wonder what happens once they complete A and C school, and are assigned to a post (is there a place to leave some personal items when you have to go to sea)? I'm getting ahead of myself, but just had the thought.

Got my Keel yesterday. Thought there would be more pictures of our sailors doing the everyday stuff, but still worth it.
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.
Am making cookies and had a Idea. I am trying to make the cookies that our Sailors love. If your sailor loves a cookie, let me know and if its a special one give me the recipe: I will make and send to where ever they are. I have just send 3 boxes to GL which will be given out to all. Good idea or just a pipe dream? you decide. Off thursday and w/e, that will be my baking days.

OK still no KEEL. Has everyone else received theirs? If so, can you look to see if there is a tele# or website where I can check on mine? Really appreciate the help.

Hello, hope everyone had a great turkey day! I am counting down the paychecks... Ahemm, I mean, I am counting down the days till my boys are home. Kinda wish I didn't have to share them.

@Sharon, I want in on adopting our 10-01's, but we need a secure site to share mailing addresses. Wikispaces has a way to do that, so that may be an option. Let me know.

Take care everyone. B.

Eileen, I am sorry your son is having a rough week. That is when it is hardest for us moms, not being able to hug them. Seby was down a little bit back as well, but now that he is on the countdown for coming home his spirits seem to have picked up again. Hugs for you!!

Well, I survived the first holiday without my son....no fun, but to parrot what so many of you have said so far...better get used to it. I don't know the exact details, and I am not sure I want to know them, but it sounded like he had a growing up moment this weekend. He got himself into an uncomfortable situation that he had to get himself out of. Haven't heard from him for a couple of days, so I am going with the no news is good news motto here.
@ Kat Q, so glad that your son's room mate situation finally worked itself out. It is really difficult living situation when roommates don't get along. On the plus side, he probably learned some great interpersonal skills through that experience.

Jane MM - I agree with your post - we are the "adopted mothers" of all the sailors on here and we will always have each other's backs for support and venting.
