On this day (Sept. 1st) in Navy History- 1925 - CDR John Rodgers and crew of 4 in PN-9 run out of fuel on first San Francisco to Hawaii flight. Landing at sea, they rigged a sail and set sail for Hawaii.

I'm going to miss the M&G with you. My flight doesn't get in till 8:30p or 2030. What a bummer. was looking forward to it. my son couldn't get the day off and so had to make flight for after 6p. If anyone wants to meet sometime during w/e i would love to meet you. Just wrote daily letter to son, put stickers on that we give to kids when they get there shots. Way to go and Urock. seemed just what i was thinking. Prayers to anyone on the east coast. I was brought up on long island, now live in buffalo, ny.

Had to do that thing i hate to do yesterday( ac tually i love my job), but it takes me away from reading my new Navy4moms. I get so much info and advice it blows my mind. I too have just finished my Dave Ramsey budget. Boy did I have to change th budget this month. Need to buy more stamps and printer ink. It just adds up. thanks LTLY for the advice on leadership. when jay called he said he didnot want the baseball scores, no NFL,no NHL but just my letters, everyday. I thought I was running out of "words of inspiration". Nope today is"leadership" and "respect". I can hear the RESPECT in my mind along with Anchors aweigh. talk to you soon.

Good morning, ladies! Just checked the 9/2 site. They said that the Meet&Greet at the Ramada was WONDERFUL! Hopefully they will post when they get a chance on these upcoming PIR sites. But if not, please check their site next week when they will post on there about their experiences.

Wow, Jules! My son is based there, but actually at Newport News. He has "duty" tomorrow on FAF (floating barge by dry docked ship). He isn't concerned at all since he is a Miami native and we have gone through many, including Cat 5 Andrew. But evacuations are a must for safety! I have no doubt that the Navy is very much on top of this and he is not concerned either.
I'm praying for all in the storm's path, but especially for the EASTERLY turn to take it away from the coast!

LTLY, Weather.com!!!!! OK, thought I would start everybody's day off with a laugh. The night before last I was up kinda late. The TV in my room is on when I am up and I heard this commercial. It was about the same as those Cash for Gold commercials. This one was "Send us your unused gift cards and we will send you money". Some teenage girl was whining about having gift cards instead of being given cash. Now, I tend to laugh or yell at TV commercials. This time I did both. I guess you could call this "The let's see who fell off the banana boat today test." I'm guessin' by the time you send them in and they take their fees and taxes and this and that out, you are probably left with .02. I learned long ago from my Step-dad to look at just about everything with a jaundiced eye. "If it looks too good to be true, it probably is". FIrst of all I can't believe these people would think that anyone would send them their gift cards. Second, gift cards are usually for less than $50.00. Most kids spend that much on junk in the blink of an eye. Anyway, the commercial made me laugh that people can be so gullible and some will actually do this. Everyone have a great day. It has been thundering and lightening here for a couple of hours. I'm sure it is raining, too. I just haven't been outside yet and the sun isn't out.

We got a 1080 hd 32 in flat when we moved and now the hubs said (before he left for basic) that he wants a 42-46" in the same. Geez. Of course he plays video games on it and since they giant monitors, we hook the laptops to it. You can get them reasonable at the NEX. Check it out. There is NEX online so you can look around too.
