Linda: Navy Fed won't tell you anything obviously. So the only way you can check is waiting for the statement.
But....I have a feeling that their 1st paycheck for this PIR group just came in earlier this month. Look for a statement at your house within a couple of weeks from Navy Fed.

gcmb: Yes, it comes to whatever address he listed as his home address on the account.

Tiff'sMom: Sounds like she will do fine...and the COACH gift certificate for Christmas sounds like a great idea! If they don't have a store in GL, you know they will in Chicago, just a short train ride away for her in GL.

TIFFSMOM I just about had heart failure last week when I checked Cecily's account --- she had spent more in the 3 weeks she'd been out of boot camp than she makes in a month! She bought clothes, a new phone, a blanket, everything they sell at the NEX and at the American Eagle store --- I know she was dying after not being able to do anything at all for 8 weeks though so I'm not lecturing her just yet...lol

TiffsMom, You are a riot. LMAO. Also does she have time to breath, eat, think??? I think it's time for you to have a glass of wine tonight.

Linda: Would he have listed your address as his home address with the Navy? If so, the statements will eventually come to you. I get all of my son's Navy Fed stuff...not that I WANT it...I don't even open it. He is 24 and does his banking on line (out of bc). I would prefer NOT to know where his money is going. :-) He is a saver normally....but not sure how much he is saving right now! Start up costs when stationed got him...car, insurance, laptop, etc. Hopefully he is back on course now.

The first paycheck usually is in 4 weeks after they arrive at bc. They were just paid again today (or yesterday for Navy Fed customers, according to LTLY.

OK....I'm not worried about her spending her money (my money, yes) she's a saver and has her eye on a jeep in a few years.... I just hope that mall near the base doesn't have a Coach store, she does love her Coach purses, hmmm maybe gift certificate to there for Christmas! LOL She's suppossed to have A school in GL.

LINDA my daughter did not get money in her account (from home) the first time around either but after that she got all caught up in a hurry! The first time they get paid it will cover every single day they have been in, it just may take a cycle or two to get to the bank --- be patient, it's on it's way. If you didn't get information sent to your address chances are he didn't open a new account yet.

AND, TIFF'S MOM: If she eventually gets assigned to a ship, she gets extra $$ for ship's pay. Now it's not MUCH...but every little bit helps. And when they are deployed, they can't spend too much money, right? Well, until they are in port.
Then all bets are off....would be better if they just cruised around the oceans for 4-6 months at a time, right? HA!
One last thing....she will have a food allowance ($200/mo) put in there...I believe in the first check of the month. This comes back out. It is for her galley food. BUT she can eat as much as she wants, even if she goes over the $200. They don't allow them to starve!

My son has been stationed since May. He told me he just replaced his NWUs (blue camouflage) because that is what he wears the most and they had gotten a bit ragged. Seems a little soon to me, but its his money! They wear them in bc too....and A School....so he has had them for a good while.

Oh, and my son did get a debit card with his Navy Fed account. But he forgot to get checks! He got them once he was stationed.
