I only have a moment, but wanted to direct all of you to go on to Facebook. Then look up "U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command" under the friend search - then click 'like". They just posted photos of today's graduating sailors!!!! You'll see my comment on their main page, but I'm not Sobe on facebook! Real name is Lisa Marie. Back to work I go!!!!!!

JessicaB, great questionaires. It will make it so much easier to get answers. Mine isn't much of a writer. He will get a bunch of mail next week. Printed two of them plus I am sending a regular letter. Thanks, some great funny questions.

Still new to this and not sure where to post my question, but just got back from vacation yesterday so my my message box for incoming calls at home was full.
When I checked caller ID I noticed that the local Navy Recruit Station had called.
I tried to call them back but no one answers and there is no way to leave a message. Should I be worried or just assume they were calling to check on the family?

I wrote to a female recruit in the 9/10 group. Ihad written to a few male recruits before, but never got an answer. One of the moms on 9/10 asked her daughter, got several names, posted that she had them, and when we contacted her, she assigned us each one of them. I wrote her and received a 4 page letter from her yesterday. She was DELIGHTFUL! She asked that I write again, which I did. She is getting ready to go through BStations next Thurs and I wanted my letter to get there before then.

Like Lala Ribbon said, some don't have many family members or ones who will write. It is sad, but so true. But I lift each of these recruits at RTC in prayer daily...they come from such diversified areas of life, yet they all work as a team to defend our country! I think that is so neat! We are all Navy family and it is so wonderful that we support one another.

Thanks for asking, ladies. When you get some names, just let us know on here and we can start writing!

Well, back to work for me... so my kids can say "My mom, she worked hard to provide us with food, shelter and a sense of well being and roof over our heads, ok... not really, I barely make a dime, but it would make for a good Poor Female President story. Have a good afternoon everyone, see yall tonight (run, hide the children!!!) bye bye!

I can't imagine :( Well, hopefully Tiff won't have any, because that is just too sad, but if she does, I will definetly let yall know and maybe we can all send letters to the orphans... man, that is just so sad :(

some kids don't have any family support at all. It is very sad. Not only do they not get mail but many of them don't have anyone come to PIR either. It is really sad.

And that would be so typical of her, banish me from being seen with her (it's bad enough I embarass her as a normal kids LOL) but the other daughter, the Prezzzz she will let me sleep in the White House, because she likes mommy's cooking! LOL (She's in college, has no clue what she wants to do!LOL)

She is AECF and does not know yet if she will be ET or FC.... Her E status was because she recruited a NUKE boy and three Other kids, so it qualified her for the rank up?? All she knew was it would mean more money when she gets of out boot and something else... maybe a little (what are those thingies they wear on their shirts?? my son is ROTC and has them.... dang... ) well.... That is what she will be!! :)

@tiffsmom - lol.... I think your daughter has the potential! What will her rate be? My son is now an IT (just graduated from A-School last Friday). He is only a ITSA, missed becoming an E-3 by a 1.5 pts.!, but he will try again soon to be a ITSN. So... put whatever rate your daughter will be before the CM, and you've got it!!! Just make sure she still allows you to call her by her first name, those CM's can get snobby!!!! lol....

I know Linda.. hahaha And hoping that Madame President is her Sister! LOL

Diannep... I will ask her today in my letter, but had told her in advance before she left to let me know (because of yall on here saying there might be some kids with no mail) I will remind her though

Why do you suppose some kids don't get any mail??
