Don't know if I am doing this the right way, but I wanted to say hi and share that we now have two letters that I would not trade for all the money in the world. My Son is very excited to be in the Navy. I will try to be a good member of this group and there is so much info I have learned just from spending some time reading on this site. Thank you all who know more about this journey than I. So excited and so very proud.

Post on here the BStations date your recruit gives you (and division number) so that LTLY can get a BStations schedule at the top. The recruits won't know this date probably for a couple of more weeks.

Jane: Also, it may help you to know that in my son's group (he PIRed in Feb), he said there was a time when a ton in his division went to the RDC's and said they wanted to quit and go home. Of course, some never verbalized this because of the reaction the others got....DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT!

Jane: They are all afraid of getting asmoed (setback), but it is not the end of the world if that's what it takes to get them on the right track and learning what they need to. And you are right....he may be doing just fine now....my son would have some low "can't do anything right" moments and then would be upbeat next time. I don't think we moms would want to be "flies on the wall" to see our kids in this instance. Better that we don't know exactly what they are going through! We just want to see the "finished" product at PIR! The "getting there" is tough for our moms to know about.....

Happy for all who got happy letters! Now, don't be discouraged if all of the letters are not always upbeat. Remember, emotions in bc are up and down...from one moment to another with all that they are doing. Just depends on the mood they are in when they write. If their letter is kind of down, by the time you get it, they are probably doing a whole lot better! They should be turning the corner soon in bc where the yelling isn't so bad and they have adjusted. They can see the fnish line (PIR) and they are focused! It won't be long! Check the posts on 8/27 today if you want to see lots of excitement when getting their "I'm a Sailor"calls!

No letter still :( I have been standing by the mail box for an hour waiting and nothing came.
Comment by sondra on August 25, 2010 at 6:22pm
I got my letter today! I bet I have read it 10 times! lol He says that he likes it, the food is good and that he has made some friends! He said that that he passed his physical test and his swimming test! Yeah for him! He didn't say anything about his wisdom teeth though!!! lol Talks about having a writing and study test Friday! Says that his days go by fast and slow at the same time! lol If he only knew how slow the days go for me! Says that he prays a lot and likes receiving mail! lol I am so proud! Oh and even got a P.S. I love ya'll!

Jane - Hang in there maybe it will get better by the next letter! My son isn't a scholar either but didn't mention having any trouble with it. Not that he would tell me if he was!
Comment by LTLY on August 25, 2010 at 6:16pm
Jane I bet all he needs to hear is your encouraging words and advice to ask for the help! Hang in there, we are praying for your son!
