pamom I booked my reservations at the Red Carpet Inn. I had read on here somewhere that someone had stayed there and that it was really nice. Now if anyone knows different please tell me so I can change, please!

Pam, read the link in my previous post--it also has hotel recommendations. Quickly--the Navy Lodge is wonderful. Anything in the Fountain Square or Gurnee Mills area is also great! (Numerous hotel choices in Fountain Square and Gurnee Mills. Fountain Square is closer to the base.)

I've been reading alot of bad reviews for certain hotels, makes me nervous on which one to book. Does anyone have any suggestions on nice hotels? I was thinking of the Quality Inn, is this in a bad area near the Ramada Inn, because I have been reading horror stories about that place? I don't want to stay in a bad area. Help!!!!

Flanagan's or Anastasia's would be happy to provide a room at no charge for your M&G and both are nice. The Ramada M&G is not N4M-sponsored or endorsed, and in fact, the hotel is in such a seedy strip, the Navy tells sailors to stay away from that area when they are on liberty! Read here for more info and tips, read the comments also for more suggestions:

Hello to all! I was wondering something. I have been reading how bad the meet and greet at the Ramada is and was wondering if these are done by Div's or by PIR group. If it is by PIR I say we move it to some place enjoyable. Just saying...I will do whatever everybody else wants to! I can't wait to meet all of you wonderful women!!!!! You have helped me in more ways than you will ever know.

emmaship... congrats to your son. My son swims like a fish so it should be no problem for him. I am more concerned about the wisdom teeth being pulled. I am going to try and find a couple of cards about dentists and send those, hopefully he will feel like laughing by then. If you have a chance, all of you, go to the page for the 8/13/10 graduation. One of the moms there has posted some great info you may need or want to know. In the last letter I send I am going to include any pertinent information I think he should know so I am making notes now. I really need to buy groceries so I am off to make my list. Thanks, ladies, for all you are doing to keep everyone's spirits up at this special time in our kids' lives. I think they would be proud of how we are helping each other.

Hi everyone, I'm back from my vacation. I didn't get any letters yet! I hope they can write this week. I guess they can only write on Sunday's so I hope tomo. is the day. Becky.. I am sorry to hear about your son, I hope it all works out for him. It is a shame that he passed those tests at Meps, don't they give the same ones out at BC? Keep us posted on everything.

I also received a letter today from my husband! I was super excited to hear how well he was doing. I made him up a questionaire and he sent it back to me :) I will definately be making another one of those.

I got a letter from my son today. I am very happy. It was written on a Tuesday. They must have received some special privilege. They had the swimming test this week. My son passed. He was worried about that one. He also warned that letters and photos are allowed only. I had printed some things off the computer and they were confiscated. He said the smaller the envelope, the better. If the envelope is overstuffed, it gets checked out.
I guess I will keep it simple from now on. I hope you all got letters too.

Good morning everyone, RIBBON info:
Division 821 black ribbons with gold letters
Division 946 Red ribbons with gold letters
The other divisions have not made a decision yet. We can do them all Navy with gold or silver letters or we can do each division different. There are so few in each division I would stick to Navy with gold or silver letters. Someone from each division can post it or send me a friend request and let me know. Thanks
