N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Trying to see if any one has a SR on ship 04 and if they are scheduled for PIR on the 11th? Our daughter received a stress fracture, when she called she said she was on ship 04 instead of ship 09. I thought ship 05 is for medical. We haven't heard from her since tuesday, don't know if we should cancel hotel. HELP PLEASE

So now I am confused. He gave me a list of people he made friends with and told me he missed his old division on the same form so I wonder which division all these names are from. Guess I will find out the next time he calls or in more letters.

NausetMom:  The gates open at 6:30 and the PIR Hall at 7.  We arrived at 6:40 when there, and were at the PIR Hall a few minutes after 7.  We had 9 divisions  - you all have 12 so it will be more crowded.  We found that some of the "prime" seats were already taken by the time we made our way in (top row of lower bleachers where you can lean against the wall and the 1st row).

Sooo.....I would be planning to arrive at the train station by at least 6:30!

I got a letter from my SR today, usually it gets here on Thursdays so I had figured he just didn't write me. His letter was the questioner that i had sent him, all filled out. He said his biggest accomplishment was passing all his test and their academic flag. That there is less yelling now.:) He also claims his bed is now made so tight the the quarter hits the ceiling. hmmmmm Can't wait to see that myself. I also asked if he had made some friends and i got back about 8 last names. Wonderful news! Also in the mail I received my Sr's challenge coin in a pretty blue box!! Hope he likes it.

diannep, what time do you suggest getting there? driving and walking in from the train station

Comment by Feliciackm on September 20, 2013 at 12:56pm

Yes, will do! I save that little "route" to my phone already! lol I'm super excited and a lot less confused and stressed about making the right choices for that weekend. Everyone is so helpful. :)

Comment by diannep on September 20, 2013 at 12:27pm

I think that is the best idea for you all, Felicia.

Remember the hint.  Don't get in the line....Stay to the left on Buckley, pass RTC and turn around near the train station, approaching RTC from the opposite direction.  You will be able to turn in pretty quickly then.  Most cars are coming from the opposite direction and since only about 10-15 percent of the SRs are represented on this site, most do not know this "hint."  It is actually Sarge's!  :-)

I'll have my mom, stepdad and younger brother with me. I am totally out of shape though haha maybe we'll just drive and get in line super early... then just hope we find a good spot.
