N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Thanks diannep. It was heart lifting, that is for sure. That would be great if he made E3!!! He was very excited to make E2!!

Chis Mom, I have also asked my SR to find out if any SR's won't have anyone there for graduation so they can join us!!!! He hasn't mentioned anyone yet, but may not know yet either.

Hi everyone and good morning. I am having real issues with this website for some reason. I think it is a virus on my computer because when I come here I get bombarded with popups and them my computer freezes. I am traveling today to VA to go babysit for my new grand baby for the week. They are on a waiting list for daycare and she can't start until hopefully next week. It is killing my Sailor to have to leave her already. I can't believe 6 weeks maternity is already up. Luckily I can take my work with me so I am able to help them out so no worries there :) Every city has a post office right? lol And my son-in-law is an IT so he should be able to fix the issues on my computer :) I hope you all have a wonderful day and I hope it is a great week for calls and letters. Here is the reason I am traveling :)

Hello Moms!  chi's mom from ship 12/div 388.  Rec'd a call Saturday, then again Wednesday and last night.  Also rec'd mail and my daughter is doing well.  She has passed her tests with high scores along with doing well with her physical work  She is ship yeoman which keeps her quite busy in addition to maintaining her personal goals.  She sounded great in comparision to last week.  Our whole family is going to Chicago and staying with family who lives 9 miles from where the Navy training base is.  We have two fellow sailors coming with my daughter to our family home for food and relaxation.  If there are any other sailors out there that will be without family on graduation day, please let me know as we would like to do something for them, maybe joining us for a meal?  peace to all and have a great day.

booco:  What a great call!  Wonderful that he got a promotion.  He can actually reach up to E-3 during bootcamp, so fingers crossed that he keeps up the good work!

Marcelle:  Great that your son did well on his test.  That always brightens their day!

Good Morning All !

Had a call from our SR this evening. What a pleasant surprise. Didn't expect one. He is doing well. He said his Division passed their academic exam the other day with flying colors so they flagged. He said the food is good and he is doing very well. He sounded a lot more cheerful than last weekend. More like himself. He was also made E2! He was very proud of that. I am very proud of him!

Comment by Marcelle on September 8, 2013 at 10:16pm

I know they took a test. All he said was they had a test and he got a really good grade. He didn't mention the name of it. He did say he studied for it.

UCMJ is the Uniform Code of Military Justice. It is a no joke test they have to take on the laws of the military. I am pretty sure that he said this is the first academic test that they took. He's already using the Navy speak but I think when they do well as a division or pass a milestone, like the UCMJ, they get the division flag. Your son, Marcelle, would be the one carrying it for his division or whatever other flag they carry when they march. They have tests coming up or have already taken on ships and aircrafts, ranks and insignias, etc. but I think the UCMJ was the "big one" they were referring to.

Hi Marcelle, That is wonderful that he was able to talk to his grandpop. I am sure it was special call for both of them.      I wonder if the UCMJ test is an academic test, I know they had one this week
