@newnavymom....I love his teeth...it is one of my favorite things about him...but I have NO idea how he became dental yeoman or whatever he called it. HILARIOUS! He is a math guy...I can think of 100 things he would rather do than teeth but whatever. He said "it's an important job but not too stressful!". He sounded pretty homesick. Apparently him and a few others wrote letters during p-days but got in trouble for writing when they were not allowed so he made it sound like he no longer had those letters to send to me.

LC girlfriend, I'm with you (sad) that it's unbelievable our guys have not received letters from home until now. Between the girlfriend, me, and various relatives, friends and neighbors, my son should have been getting 2 to 4 letters a day, and it looks like they'll all arrive in a heap at the same time ... he'll be too tired to read them! Hope he opens 'em all, 'cause I put lots of jokes and funny military stuff in them that he could share with his new "family."

@ LC girlfriend...does that mean he has the best teeth in the division? Is he checking everyone's teeth to make sure they brushed them? Laugh.... :-)

I FINALLY received my first letter today (I am in FL)! So I thought I would update you all. He said he was very sick when he first got there and is sick now but he is taking 2 different medications and now he feel great! He missed his run by 35 seconds but says they have been doing a lot of PT and is confident about passing the next chance. He said they are also doing a lot of marching, folding clothes and making beds and learning a lot of "info". ha ha. He said his first week there was the hardest of his life and he questioned his reasons for being there and all he wanted was to go home...but he said that has passed and now he is glad he is there. He said he has yet to receive any letters (his letter was dated 9/5) but he thought they should be getting them later that day (sunday). That makes me sad to hear because I have sent close to 20 by now I am sure as well as my family and his family and our friends so it's a shame that they hold onto those letters for so long before giving them to the recruits. Other than that, he said the base and the weather are beautiful and that he thinks he will get a call on sunday!
