N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Tonight seems to be a little back to normal. My son Drew has his buddies all over. The new little boy that just moved here came over so Drew wanted him to meet all his buddies that live in the neighborhood. I'm making tacos and loving having a houseful of teenagers!!! Yes I'm a bit emotional but happy too!!! They just ran to the store to get me lettuce and to practice parking. It's nice hearing all the kids telling stories about my SR to the newby and laughing..... Telling him wait until you meet him when he has leave over Christmas!!! I guess they are all staying here this weekend too and having a bonfire!!!! Drew is hoping his brother gets to call since he gets his wisdom teeth out Thursday. He wants everyone here Friday on to put him on speaker phone so they all can say hi!! I have the best kids ever!!!! I even love their friends

Received my 2nd letter today from my SR. 1st dated 08-31, 2nd dated 09-03 - what a difference a few days make. This letter was better and he is taking in bootcamp great.

Flamingoose,

Your SR daughter must be really responsible to have been chosen as both the Religious Petty Officer and the Mail Petty Officer!!  She helps the Chaplin with church services and does the daily mail!!  Good for her!!  Happy Belated Birthday Blessings to your girl!!!

Good morning everyone! Just so ya'll know, NanaM and I are praying for the same SR,  Ship 11 Division 330. In the call last Saturday she said she was acting as the mail petty officer and the religious petty officer. I wish she would get some mail out because if I don't get a letter soon I'm going to be visibly batty. She turned 18 on Monday and left on Wednesday and this is just a little much for me to handle.

Ladies, just a reminder that we cannot post last names of the SRs on this site.  If you have done that, please copy/paste your comment substituting initials for last name!  Thanks!

Flamingoose and NanM, spoke with my SR, D330, this morning. She was able to write a letter (yesterday maybe) so I would think you will be getting a letter soon! It sounded like their division is doing ok. Just one IT, 45 minutes, wasn't bad, she said. Also, sounds like they took their swim tests. Hang in there!
