For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

My recruit has performed lead strum in the band at the October 3 and October 10 graduations. I was wondering about the battle station too. I hoping to get a phone call tomorrow, but I don't know how the battle station works.

when u write to ur SR ask him/her what flag he/she will be carrying, as ur SR will be out in front of their PIR...u might also want to watch previous PIR's so u will be able to see where to sit, assuming u're going to the graduation:http://www.livestream.com/usnavyrtc

949: Sticks (Flags): PIR 10/17/2014 TG 49 - 11 Divisions (325-334 and 949)
(Division 949 will also perform during the 10/03/2014 PIR and the 10/10/2014 PIR.)
Sticks (Flags) march perfectly timed and executed to the drum corps cadence. It is their job to present the flags for every state and trust territories in the union.
They are lined up by height, so the flow looks better, so your recruit will probably not get to carry his/her home state flag.
They also honor those who have gone before by presenting the POW and MIA flags, as well as the US flag and the US Navy flag in the Color Guard.

Does anybody know anything about div 949? I'm new to this site and I wanted to get information about my recruits division.

Thanks, GRU....but I wonder how families in the future are supposed to know if their SR's division will not be allowed at Navy Lodge for one reason or another? This all seems a bit strange to me. Did Navy Lodge say WHY that division was not allowed at their hotel?
The lady on 10/10 group said that there was a big Ball and the "big brass" would be staying there, and therefore no recently graduated sailors could be there. Sounds very odd to me.
Still researching! Thanks for checking on this! We heard from Navy Lodge....now we need to hear from RTC Public Affairs! :-)

I think the Navy Lodge should be advising families of a special event with special restrictions taking place there? During the reservation process or via email?

Ok got the skinny from the Navy Lodge....it was only one division that wasn't allowed to go to the Navy Lodge from the last PIR on 10/10/14.....Sailors are still allowed to go to the Lodge...

Maybe, CatMom....but how would the families know in advance when there is special activity affecting Navy Lodge? That is why I want to see what RTC says about it.
