N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

diannep- thank you for the info!! My son is in Div 408 he will not be doing (BS information removed) from what I understand!!! Seems so far away and is the last day of the week...very nervous for him!  But....that does give us time to figure things out for sure so that when he calls and says he is a sailor (fingers crossed!!!) We can let him know for sure. Thank you!

I have been praying since last night for everyone........I had been relatively calm other than really missing my daughter.  I have not heard from her, as we all seem to be in the same boat....about 3 plus weeks.  Everyone kept saying no news is good news and now I get that.  I don't want to hear from her.....although I have no idea when she really will go thru BS being in 950.  Last night we all started getting all the feed back and hype about BS beginning, and then one of our own gets that call that hers missed the run.  Luckily he will have more chances and I know he will get there.  What a flurry of emotions in 8 weeks.........praying for everyones sanity and well being in the coming days.  Keep all of the SR's and their families in your immediate thoughts today.  We have a few more hours before the beginning of those I'm a sailor calls come in but please post them here.  We want to celebrate those and share in those who may not have passed, giving those families comfort and support when they need it...........it could be any one of us.  HOOYAH!!!

bhbqxe:  Click on the "horn" at the bottom left of the screen and slide up the volume.  It worked for me.  For some reason, the video opens with the sound turned all the way down.

Good Morning All !

Comment by bhbqxe on October 16, 2013 at 11:36pm

diannep, is there supposed to be sound when were watching the PIR graduation video?  I don't hear anything.

Comment by diannep on October 16, 2013 at 10:59pm

Messaged you, mateo.

MissNell:  They have more chances before PIR.  In fact, they get chances up to Wed before PIR.  So hopefully that SR will get it done and be at PIR!  They can d BattleStations with the next group, if necessary.  Please tell her that.

However, if she doesn't get another call from her SR, she should not go to GL.  Some ladies have done this, only to find that their SRs did not graduate and they were not allowed to visit with them.  Hoping that she gets a great call from her SR either later this week or next week!  Guessing that her SR is in either Div 399/400????

If your SR doesn't pass the final PFA before their division has BS they will be sent to FIT. If they are sent to FIT they will call you, and they may tell you not to come unless you hear from them.

We advise you not to cancel your travel plans until the very last minute as those in FIT will usually have until the Wed before PIR to pass their PFA. They will then go through BS either Wed or Thur even if it with another TG.
