WELCOME TO PIR 10/26/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Please pray for us that we have an easy flight with a 6 month old. Our flight leaves at 6 am. We will have to leave the house at 3am and his schedule is going to be screwed up. On a good note in 24 hours we will be in Chicago.
Safe travels for everyone and see some of you tomorrow evening.
Friday we will be with our Sailors!!

Whooo Hooo.  Only 1 more day until we leave for GL.  Unable to go to Meet and Greet but so looking forward to seeing my Sailor.

Thank you everyone for your support and friendship throughout these 9 weeks.  It made it so much easier.  And special thank you to the veterans for your time and support.  You don't know how much it means to me!

As far as meeting people, I meant PIR 10-26-12 families and not our veteran moms

Comment by Louisville Mom on October 24, 2012 at 8:26am

Good morning all!

Thanks FTLW, Lala and diannep for your support. It means the world to all of us.

Hope to meet some of you at PIR. Safe travels everyone

For all of you going to PIR, please come back and let us know if extras do get in to PIR and if you are able to meet your Sailors at the Airport. I truly hope it all works out so you and your families can spend as much time as possible with your new Sailors :-) Travel safely and have a wonderful time.

Good Morning Ladies!

I would just advise to be prepared for both scenarios, bring the cell phones etc that were requested by your Sailor's and know that the AP may not happen. Follow your Sailors lead. I hope it works out for the "better".
Comment by Sharon on October 24, 2012 at 12:58am

My Sailor's orders have him leaving Saturday morning. Less than 24 hours with him will be hard. We were definitely counting on seeing him off at the airport as it would have given us more time with him. Hoping it all works out.
