WELCOME TO PIR 10/26/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

We have 7 members in our joint family, plus he has a mom. So I will be sitting outside and waiting :( We were hoping the extras would accommodate the larger families. At least we are only coming from WI.

Comment by Bryansmom on October 22, 2012 at 3:35pm
I know Amanda, this totally stinks! If they wanted to change the rules, then start 1-1-13 and post a notice of the change, not 7 days before graduation.
Comment by Amanda NavyMom/ArmyMom on October 22, 2012 at 3:33pm
They shouldn't make changes without giving the SR's time to make adjustments. We have 5, and still don't know which sibling is officially on the "list". We haven't been worried about it cause we knew it was a small group. Even the last letter from my son said we would all get in easily.

OK It's a stretch but we all got to pull together. We only have 3 on our list (1 we want to substitute) if there is anyone from div 349 that needs a spot send me a private message with your name and your SR's name and if he is able to make a change I will try to get your name on his 4. It's a long shot but I am willing to try it.

Hello ladies! Just read about not allowing extras so my question is, would retired military count as an extra?
Comment by Louisville Mom on October 22, 2012 at 3:19pm

This is a day to be happy and with family. I am having a time getting the money together and trying to get up there. I know there are others who can not come up with the funds to go and I will be cheering just as hard for their new Sailor as for mind. They should want all who will fit in the hall to show our men we are proud of all of them.

Comment by butrfliesnstars on October 22, 2012 at 3:16pm
Ok I just called and they said substitutions are not allowed. Only the SR can make the change and they don't usually let them the week of PIR but it up to the RDC. So fingers crossed if I get my call today I he will be allowed to make the change.
Comment by Louisville Mom on October 22, 2012 at 3:12pm

It's only fair if every SR had 4 on their list and the hall as not going to be half empty

Comment by ProudNavyGrandma on October 22, 2012 at 3:11pm

That is so sad. They should have at least started new procedure with a certain date of new divisions instead of at the end of a PIR!!!  I guess I will just wait to see my grandson at the hotel!! :(

Comment by butrfliesnstars on October 22, 2012 at 3:10pm
That makes sense. Sad for us but only fair.
