OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Welcome back, Njunnelle!!

Well, San Diego sure is a dream duty station!!  Hope your Sailor is enjoying it there!!

How sweet you are to help out your future mom-in-law and others on here.  Not too long for PIR for this group now.

Is the SR brother heading to the same A school that your Sailor went to?

Comment by Njunnelle on October 9, 2014 at 12:19am

Hi everyone! I am a fiancé of a Navy sailor stationed in San Diego. He went through bootcamp in March and now his brother is currently in left sept.2! SHIP 14 DIV 347. We've gotten several letters and he is struggling but doing alright. His mom asks me to get on here since I did it not too long ago and she's not too tech savvy! Let me know if you have any questions or just want to talk about the division :) pray all your SRs are doing great! It is worth it :)

All of the divisions should be in Hell Week at some point this week.  Some may not finish it until Mon or Tues of next week.

Good morning! Does anyone happen to know if ship 12 Div 350(push division) is also in "hell week"?
Comment by diannep on October 8, 2014 at 10:22am

Good Morning....again!

Just a reminder that if any of you are posting questions in the division discussion groups that you hope we N4Moms veterans see, we have very little time to go through the discussion groups on a regular basis to catch these questions.  We are on anywhere from 6-9 PIR groups at once.  So please bring your questions here on this main PIR page.  Thanks!

They should be in it this week, Loretta.

Good Morning!
