N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Oh my goodness Monica!! So glad you are all safe. Might I suggest you write a review of the hotel on tripadvisor, you don't have to say specifics, but you could recommend not staying there.

I am so glad you are all safe!!!!

Oh my gosh, monica!  Thanks so much for sharing this.... how horrible.  Whenever I see someone post that they have reservations there, we ask that they please check TripAdvisor for reviews first (they are usually not good).  An employee at the A School there had told us a few years ago that the area it is in is not a good one.  I think that your experience proved that!  So glad you and your family were NOT in the car.  What did mgmt say about this?

tinksmom:  Thanks for the info on when the Pensacola sailors are flying out.  They have had a LONG DAY waiting in the airport!

Yes, thanks navy for moms for the support! It was great meeting some from our PIR group at the meet & greet. PIR was awesome, so proud of all our sailors! I guess I'll join the Pcola group now :)

@jpzmom I'm here now in the windy city and yes it is cold. Some of the sailors going to Pcola were bussed to the airport @2400 this morning and the their flight doesn't leave until 1630 this evening and the ones going to the GL A school was given liberty to 12 noon then bussed ova to the A school and it took them about 2 hrs to check in and they had liberty until 2200.
Comment by diannep on November 1, 2014 at 12:03am

*Ooops!  Meant he will be bussed to the airport late SAT. night....sorry about that!

Comment by diannep on November 1, 2014 at 12:03am

JPzMom:  Most likely the flight won't be before 6 a.m. Sunday morning....hopefully later so you have more visiting time with your sailor at the airport!  He will be bussed to the airport though late Sunday night to wait.
