~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hello Ladies. My son that left Sept. 9, PIR Oct. 13 on Ship 04 Div 821.. am i in the right group. all the other comments say different ship's and div's :-/
Loretta1212,
The following hotels are all in Waukegan/Gurnee about 10 mins away fro RTC and there are restaurants, a Super Walmart, and Sarge's Meet & Greet in the area:: Courtyard by Marriot, Holiday Inn Express, Residence Inn, and Springhill Suites. There are a few others too, but these we know are favorites. Call them directly and ask for the Navy graduation rate. No deposit is necessary.
If there is any sort of waiting list for Navy Lodge, call them to get on it. If online they show they are booked, try calling because it is not always true. Book in your SR's name~~
Is there another hotel that's close to them, I've tried to get into the Navy lodge but they are booked already.
Blessed Sunday!

@diannep Thank you!! He did mention that setbacks had already taken place. Don't want to say how many, but I think it's why he's so positive that things will come together, shortly, for his Division.
Thx again for addressing this! The unexpected can happen so quickly for all of them (including mine.) I'm certainly staying hopeful & prayerful for the success of all our SRs!!
monica: You sound like one very special mom! I know that GF so appreciates you! Not to mention, your SR! :-)
GeaixTigers: Hope you get that reassuring call soon, or at least a more positive letter!
Still waiting for my phone call. Feeling a little down today. I know that he's doing fine. But just want to hear his voice to make sure.
I did receive a letter the other day but I'm sure it was written after he first arrived. Now that they are really into it - just want to know all is OK.
Thanks everyone so much, it's nice having other moms who understand what's going on.
My son called yesterday. He said he was doing good except looking like a chipmunk where they pulled his teeth. Bless his heart. First think I asked him was if he called his sweet girlfriend. Yesterday was her B'Day. I didn't mind being second on the calling list for that :-)
