~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Jane, Is there a reason you won't stay and see your SR off at the airport?  Sometimes they can have a long wait at the airport, even though they are bussed late Fri/early Sat night to wait for flights.  Some may leave as early as 6 a.m. on their flights; others may not leave until later in the afternoon, and lots will leave in between those times.  Your SR won't know until right before PIR what flights he/she is on,  But since you are driving, you have some leeway.  You may want to book your hotel through Sat. night just in case you can make the airport visit.  You can always cancel that night once you see your SR at PIR and find out the actual flight times.

They go in order of division number, but since we don't have all of the division numbers yet for this PIR group, I can't tell you which ones are on a certain date.  The lowest numbers will finish first---usually Fri a week before PIR.  900 division usually finishes by Tues morning of PIR week....all divisions are usually finished by Wed morning of PIR week.

The way the training weeks run is like this:

Today, some will be on 1-2 (that means, Week 1, Day 2).  Others are on 1-1 today and still others won't be on 1-1 until tomorrow.  6-5 is when they have BattleStations.  They PIR during Training Week 7, but they really conclude training at the end of week 6.

Comment by diannep on September 15, 2014 at 2:46pm

There are actually just 6 weeks of Training, although 8+ weeks of Bootcamp.  The beginning of Bootcamp is full of processing days and after BattleStations, their final test, they usually have from a week to a couple of days (depending on their division) before PIR.  Those account for the extra weeks.

Q'sMom:  Most of the divisions are in Week 1 of training this week.  Some will be starting Training Week 2 on Friday, the rest next week.  They are all without about 2-3 days of each other.

Dee

I believe the first week begins the day they arrived whether a Monday or Wednesday the following week is week 2 its the only way that an October 31st Graduation would work for our SR's who arrived on the 3rd but maybe I am wrong

Hello to all my 10/31 PIRs !!!!!

What is the normal routine for hotel stays. Do families normally leaving the Saturday after PIR or leave on a Sunday? We're driving and not planning on seeing our SR at the airport Saturday AM.

Thanks

Jane M

Good morning!  Does anyone know what Day of Training (DOT) this is for SRs who left MEPS on 3 Sep?  I've been trying to follow the Day-to-Day process listed on Craig's website, but it seems his list begins on a Monday.  Since 3 Sep was a Wed, I'm not sure I'm on the correct DOT. I think it's the P-Hold weekends that are tripping me up :-/

If you can let me know  today's DOT based on 3 Sep Ship Date, I'd sure appreciate it!!
