DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Tracy, I am so sorry for your loss, but I am sure her dad would be proud of her. I had just finished reading the letter from my daughter right before I got on here and she said
"we lost a sister today. She needed to go home because her dad passed away. I feel so bad for her but really hope she gets to come back".
Sounds like some bonds have been made and your daughter will find comfort with her new "sisters". Your family is in my prayers tonight.

Ship 03 Div. 416

So, I went to check the mail no letter. Went threw the mail 5 times. Hmn. I usually get my letter on Wednesday but because of the holiday I thought for sure today. I walk back into the housing thinking I'm hearing things. (Uhm like the mail truck) Nah can't be) Well sure enough it was. I must have gotten yesterdays mail earlier. So then I go from sad to happy to sad nad happy after I read his letter. Any way now what you have been waiting for. Ship 03 Div 416 maybe calling home this weekend as long as the Div. keeps it together. They will be going to the gas Chamber tomorrow 10/18. On Tuesday they went to the gun Range. (10-8) On 10-7 Mon. they passed 2 inspections with a 4.3 they also went to the laser gun range. On 10-10 they had a drill and scholastic test. He also said they passed there drill inspection. So they were able to march and sing without the RDC's. He thought that was pretty cool. Overall he sounds well and is looking forward to graduation.
