Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Question.... Do you think we can dress up on halloween at the airport? No masks or face paint or anything offensive...

Emily ship09 div417 pir11/01 and Lucille21 I'm so glad you guys said something:) I've been going crazy all day staring at my phone not wanting to miss my son's call:( He's called the past two Sunday's in a row and I guess I was just under the impression they would call today. He did say on his last call that their division was doing a lot better. My son is MA (Master at Arms) of the division. He said everyone seems to be falling in line which is so good! Takes them a while to get adjusted to their new life:) Hope and pray we hear from them soon!!! I too am anxious for PIR:)-

I am still having problems with the pop-ups on this site. If I click on a group a pop-up tells me I need to update my browser. I use google chrome. I tried signing out and back in but my computer told me this was an untrusted site. I ask a friend on here to try signing out and back in and her computer told her the same thing. Is anyone else having any of these problems? I think I may try to contact the admin of this site tomorrow and ask her if she has heard any of this from other people.

Yes. At first they were not working as a team at all, and he was frustrated. Now it sounds like they are starting to get it together. I know they won an academic flag so far. I also know that he feels the flip has been switched from glorified boyscout camp to lots of mind games. But it sounds like division as a whole has a good handle on it, and I'm sure that will definatly get them to be a team!!! All I know now is that I CANNOT wait for PIR!! I miss my kid!!! Lol. I also hope we hear soon!!

Emily you just saved me from staring at my phone for hours! Lol thank you so much!! I hope we hear from them soon. Has your son mentioned the division at all?

Lucille, sadly, when I spoke to my sr, who is in same div as yours, he said they will most likely not get phone calls for 3 weeks unless they have a chance to earn them:(. You never know with the navy, though, so I am continuing to keep my phone close!!!

Great news coming out of Recruit Training Command today. Although the government shutdown and furlough continues, all civilian workers have been ordered to return to work tomorrow! It will be great to have everybody back and have the command back at full strength. See you at work in the morning!!

Dmae:  I believe there may be one at 6:15 from some hotels.  You can also use Sarge's service (same price).

BKNavyMom:  They usually start moving the sailors over to GL A School within a couple of hours or so after PIR....your sailor will be able to tell you after PIR how much time he/she has before the move.

Dmae:  If your SR knows his "job" in the Navy already, then the place for A School should be known.  When meeting with the classifier, if there is a job change, of course that would affect A School.  What is your SR's future job in the Navy?
