~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Basket project update: Just picked up another from Illinois that makes #5 for them. Thank you GarayMom Ship 09 DIV 417 Total now is 25 Tinker Bean will be so proud of all of us.
Yes BK week 7 AKA I'm a Sailor call . After Battle Stations. On the positive side we will get to see them shortly after that.
It is funny that they think just went away for camp are coming back home. I don't think my son fully understood. He wouldn't be living here anymore.
The rice things is funny. It was my job to come home from school everyday and make rice. My best friend of 32 years (Who's Husband just retired from the Navy) Still teases me about how my mom would call her house and say to you me you need to come home and make rice. I taught all 4 of my kids to make rice. My SR had a rice cooker when he left for college. My daughter had a rice cooker that said "got rice" . She has also been known to dye our rice pink or purple. My best friend said do you all eat rice every night and I said well do you eat potatoes every night. One night I called my husband and said on your way home from work, will you stop at the deli and pick up some cooked rice. I said to him when the oriental lady looks at you says that's it just rice. Tell her yes, My wife forgot to push the button. Ah most important lesson when making rice. don't forget to push the button. My oldest son is still waiting for me to buy him a new rice pot cause his old one broke.
Awe,love the birthday story. Maybe you and your SR can sneak out and get his brother a little cake and have a early celebration for the both of them. Since I know your SR has a birthday in Nov. also.
Loved your sweater also. Okay you can quit laughing about the rice stories now.
@ BKNavyMom , that was a cute letter. Definitely something my 10 year old would do as well. She wrote her brother about this cute little poopzoo she saw down the street. I was so confused. "What's a poopzoo", I asked her. She says "Momma I can't say that bad word. Still confused I ask "What bad word", she said the one for poop. OHHHH the little Shih TZU..... Got to love these kids...
503 808 week 7? Thats a week before PIR.....:(
Well on a positive note, we received a letter from my SR yesterday, addressed to his 10year old brother. Letter cracked me up! Here are some of the things he wrote the little one:
I miss playing call of duty with you BUT I don't miss how you like to accidentally shoot me......
Make sure Lola (our little Pekingese) stays out of my room, I don't want her poop on my carpet......
Make sure you still remember how to cook rice (we have it everyday, it was my SR's daily job to cook) b/c you might have to teach me when I come home......
Lastly and my favorite part was: I'm so sorry I will not be with you on your Birthday (11/4). Since you will be in Washington and I will be in Chicago I will just mail you present.....
So my 10 year old decided he will shape brown playh doh in the shape of our puppy's poop and lay it around our SR's room and take a pic of it and mail it to him..... Too Funny!!
If anyone would like to make a basket. Please let me know. I have been keeping track of which states we have and been trying to keep everyone posted on where we are with them. On both N4M and on FB . If you need any info. please ;et me know. You all Rock. Keep up the good work we are almost there.
Drum Roll Please!!! We are up to 24 BASKETS. With Illinois leading the pack with 4 from there state. Please don't forget about the Halloween Costume kids contest. If you can bring a bag of candy to pass that would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you diannep!!
