OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

UPDATE on Brett this morning:  Restful night, ventilator gone, trach tube in...resting comfortably.  Responded to commands from nurses earlier, but was "out" when wife just visited.  She is happy to now be able to see his handsome face with ventilator gone.  Thanks for continued prayers!

Yes, correct, FTLW.  Should have clarifed that...they took the leg about halfway between knee/ankle--that was definitely a blessing that they preserved so much of his leg.  Hoping they don't have to take any more of it...PRAYERS!

So, today, 951 should be calling and possibly 359/360?  Possible the they went together, or that 951 went alone.  Phones handy!

diannep - Just read the update. They did not have to take his whole leg. Joy in sorrow! I pray that his healing will progress rapidly now.

Very sad news on Brett today, ladies.  They had to amputate his right leg this afternoon.  We are heartbroken...but still trusting in the Lord on his healing.  It was the leg...or his life.  Just too much infection....this all from the bullet to his abdomen severing an artery to his right leg...wow....Please pray extra hard now for his wife and mom who are there with him....not sure how much he is aware of ....thanks so very much.

Glad you are home and safe, Lala.  Add my prayers to those in the path of the storm.  Being in "Hurricane Country" down here, we know what it involves.  Prayers for safety for all.

Hi everyone, we made it home late last night from VA Beach. We had a great time visiting our Sailors but just not enough time spent with them. Hurricane Sandy was a pretty big concern so we came home a day early. Now expecting snow here at home. Could be just a trace and some areas 7 to 10 inches. It all depends on which "expert" you listen too lol. I hope you all are far away from the storm and if you are in it's path please be safe. I hope you all don't have travel problems on your way to PIR. It sure is a mess right now in many East Coast areas. You all are in our prayers.

Thanks so much for posting this info, ProudMom!

Thanks for continued prayers for Brett....specific prayers today...that the leg infection subsides and he will be able to keep his leg....

Hoping that many of your won't be affected by Hurricane Sandy...and that it won't interfere with travel plans to GL.
