N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Heather, that really stinks because there were a lot of sailors there and it's not fair to not allow all of them. I would speak to the manager

My sailor was NOT allowed to go to the Navy Lodge as well.  It was due to another sailor getting in trouble (who graduated before the PIR 11/13/15).  It was frustrating, finding a place to sit for hours, to just be able to talk with her!  We had a group of 8 total and thankfully, Starbucks allowed us to stay there for hours!

A family friend captured this photo, and I wanted to share it in case anyone else's child from Division 009 is included in this photo.

Thank you ladies for all your help & support for our Division 001 & Division 002 Recruits. It was great to meet a few of you Moms & Dads at Sarge's Meet & Greet!

My Sailor is staying at Great Lakes for "A" School so I'll be leaving here & joining that group to hand wring & hand hold with the other "A" school Moms!

Go Navy!!!

Oh boy, Alexandrasmom.  Who didn't allow her to enter Navy Lodge?  The new sailors ARE allowed in Navy Lodge for PIR weekend.  I'm glad you posted this as I'm going to notify RTC about it.  Can you give me a few more details?  Did she stay in GL for A School or fly out?  Did your sailor tell you she was told she could not go to Navy Lodge and if so, by who?  And was this person on RTC or A School base?  This created a huge mess months back but they got it all straight....so sounds like someone is misinforming the sailors.  RTC wants to know who if it is someone there....so please let me know who told your daughter this.  Thanks!

Good Morning All
Loved the graduation and was proud of each sailor. May God protect you. I was staying at the Navy Lodge and my Sailor was not allowed to enter the premises. So I order to accommodate her, we booked another hotel room so she could relax with another shipmate. In fact I had to cancel my stay, even though it was the perfect place, and go to another gotel. Not sure why this was, but maybe others should be aware.

Thanks for sharing that, NavyMom.  We had never heard of that before and I have been working on this site since early 2010!  So I still am wondering if this was part of stepped-up security because of the terrorist attack in Paris.  Thanks!

Question! Is there a Sue on here? I know we really can't give our names but if you can private message me! I know my son got extremely close to her son.
