Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Has anyone gotten a phone call from their future sailor yet? I was told to expect one soon. Just checking.

The removal of wisdom teeth is determined by a Navy dentist.  It is done if there is any chance at all of them causing a problem during deployment, where the procedure can't be ready done.  Also, it is better that the wisdom teeth be removed on the Navy's dime than on the parents' dime in my book as any anesthesia is not covered by most dental insurance and is an out-of-pocket expense!  The SRs really appreciate the 2 days rest in bed they get too and it doesn't impact their training one bit~~ :)

Jenny:  Springhill Suites is right next to Sarge's MeetandGreet so you are in a good location!  We hear good things about that hotel.

Yes no news is truly good news.  I am sure if I had spoken to him on week one or the beginning of week 2 he was so tired and still adjusting that I might have made it easy for him to not do his best. I'm glad I didn't have that opportunity and I bet he is too.   Again this is easy for me to say he called Sat and I have letters but as I said letters will probably come this week as well as they may give you their call date.
