~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I believe that your sailor eats for free!
proudnavymom: Falling asleep during BattleStations could cause a SR to fail, but normally their shipmates don't allow that, and if they do fail...they go through again and pass. The test that trips some up is their 3rd/final PFA given shortly before BattleStations. If they don't pass that one, then they must keep trying (usually in FIT DIVISION) until they do. When they don't pass the PFA, they usually call you to tell you. SO -- go on no news is good news!
Just got my ribbon from LaLa's PIR Ribbons. It is beautiful, thank you for telling me about this!!! I got the bag tags that say Navy Mom, too. Now I can pack in style!
I read you can make a sign for your hotel door saying who your Sailor is and his/her ship and division. That sounds like a fun idea that can be done on the computer and printed. I hope to hear from my SR in 005 tomorrow or Wednesday. Talk about last minute!
Ok- Focusing all of my anxious energy on making a list of tried and true yummy restaurants in and around the GL area. We will be taking our SR to dinner on Friday night, and would like to know if anyone has any recommendations?
I am also bummed that I won't be able to make it to the meet and greet Thursday night. My flight doesn't get in until 10pm
I so looked forward to all of the comments on here even though I didn't comment often it has helped me tremendously. Now everyone is on Facebook and I miss my phone telling me there is another message awaiting for me to read from here. :( I read a lot of people got phone calls and/or Facebook time with their SR's last night even from Div 007. I didn't receive a call nor was my SR on Facebook. Makes me worry that something is wrong. But as you all have said no news is good news. I hope so. Has anyone else worried about their SR and battle stations? My SR has passed all of his test and is waiting for BS. What would cause a SR not to pass?
Good Morning and Happy Veterans Day! Thinking of those who served, those who are serving, and those who paid with their lives in service to their country. God Bless Them All.
proudnavymom: You will see the Honor Recruit(s) from your division holding division numbers in front of the section you sit in.
And, yes, katiekatsmom, you can bring your own coffee! They also sell it there.
