WELCOME to PIR 11/16/2012

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Comment by GSDGirl on October 5, 2012 at 1:46pm

diannep--    thanks, yea I guess that was just wishful thinking on my part, but I knew better, oh well a mom can hope, lol.

Per the DEP website forum.

2-5 Day:
- Dental work, many get wisdom teeth pulled and are SIQ (Sick in Quarters) for 2 days

It's my understanding they do not have to, but can if so choose, or if there are problems.

Comment by jackieS on October 5, 2012 at 12:09pm

Why are they getting wisdom teeth pulled? is it mandatory? I have not heard of this.

Comment by Erika314 on October 5, 2012 at 12:04pm
Zacmansmom- my SR left the 18th and is in ship 9 div 2, I got a letter also, mine was just not funny like the ones he wrote to family...

If they are doing wisdom teeth this week, then my son will be busy getting that done... I'm praying for all the SR's and especially any getting wisdom teeth out for a quick recovery!!!!

Eirka314-I do also worry everyday, that the new GF will get the letters and I will not receive any, but I know that he is safe and I hope he does think of his Momma too!

diannep - Thank you for your on going updates and explanations!  You are a wonderful support contact!  :)

Erika314 - I feel the same way about the letter-getting the brunt of it.  That is what I guess mother's are there for!  LOL!  I haven't heard if any of my family members have received anything due to not really on sepaking terms but hoping he is writing to them and they do the same for him.

zmom2012 I have written him a letter everyday since he left,  :) I miss him so much but I know he wouldnt want me crying all the time and being a hermit, :) so I am keeping myself occupied with work, running, and spending time with my friends and family. I am hoping that maybe a letter will show up today but there is always next week :)

Erika314- What ship and div is you SR in? When did he leave. did you not get a letter?

Comment by Erika314 on October 5, 2012 at 10:03am
Happy Friday, well my SR wrote his uncle and friends and their letters were funny, so I guess I just got the brunt of it. Haha... Glad he is writing others!
