WELCOME to PIR 11/16/2012

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Betsy- I know i may need to get my mailman a gift. lol.

Comment by DebbiL on October 2, 2012 at 10:55am

I find it really strange that I received my form letter on the same day as "the box", but some of you are just getting your letter now.  Why the delay on so many of them?

Oh, and regarding the Navy print - my son's writing was a little more legible, but still not what I would call "neat".  I think he's going to have to work on that...

Hi everyone! My fiance is on Ship 14 Div 8. Also I don't think that was his handwriting it was way off. @PaulaMom my fiance didn't write names either just mom, brother, fiance and uncle. Best of luck to everyone, I might be traveling alone from South Florida but it will be worth it :)

All of the our poor mail carriers really didn't have a clue that they would need to wear armor while the Navy moms were anxiously awaiting those precious letters from their SR's, lol.

JoJo- I can relate to you with the letter lifting my spirits! I almost tackled the mail man- I gave him a warning for the days to come : ) I am sorry you had to go through your sons 18th Birthday without him. My husbands birthday was September 25, so he missed his birthday as well. But we have to go through this to get to the next stage, and the end result will be well worth it! Hopefully we will get an actual letter from our boys SOON. I just want to hear from them to know they are doing okay! We are all in this together! I am booking my flight by tomorrow : ) Yay!
