Got a phone call from my SR on Saturday. So wonderful to hear his voice. 1st one since the I'm here call. Doing good says he has gain about 10 lbs. Was excited dIV 8 won Captain's Cup/All Male Div. Can't wait to see him at PIR on Friday. :)) - double smile
Joshmom: My SR is in Div 8 Ship 14 and will be going to FL. after bootcamp as well.
...as far as if you will know if he got her on that list....not sure he can call and let you know that----it is always possible, but no guarantee. You may just have to "wing it" on PIR morning. If she is not allowed in, she will be asked to return to the car (if you go on a shuttle, she should be able to catch it back to the hotel when they drop off their next group).
Jojo: Sad to say, I think it probably is too late.... BUT....I hope she goes anyway just in case she can get in...she at least can hang out with him afterwards.
Suggestion: When your new sailor makes the I'm a Sailor call in a couple of days, ask if he can get the list changed and put her on. They should have already updated them, but I'm not sure if they can change again. It is worth asking...they have really buckled down on security there and are really checking the IDs with the lists now. They use to allow "substitutes" and "extras" but we have been told that is not happening anymore.
Good luck!
Hoping it works out for her to go!
sorry ....Good morning to all.
LADIES,
I need help…There is a good chance one of the people on my son's guest list (Step mom) will not make it.
His sister would like to take her place. Is it too late for my SR to chang the names on Access List?? I'm thinking the next time I will hear from him is when I get the "I'm a sailor call" …But even if I tell him…and he finds out he could change it …how will I know if she will be able to enter?? will he be able to call and let me know? just when we thought we had all our duck in order …now this...sorry for vernting .##frustrated##
ImJoshsMom- What div and ship is your son on? I know my SR has mentioned a friend from Ohio. He is div. 007-Ship 14
A special thanks to of those who served and are serving our great country. It is an honor to know so many people who fit into those categories. It takes a special kind of person to volunteer to protect our country, our people and our freedom. I salute each and every one of the many Veterans and their families for their sacrifices and willingness to serve. And to my Sailor I love you and miss you, Stay Safe, Happy Veterans Day, God Bless You All <3
Still looking like upper 40's and sunny for PIR. You will certainly need to dress warmly as it will be in the upper 20's the night before.
Today is the observance of Veterans Day, chances of BS happening tonight are virtually none.
In the Meantime--Good Morning from Cold Chicagoland :). 65 degrees this time yesterday, 28 this morning!!
Thank you MABsprings. I've been through Marine Corps BC and have handled this pretty well until last week. Now I'm a mess!
