WELCOME to PIR 11/16/2012

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Of course we don't really know if they will permit this again, but in the past, the sailors have been allowed to "borrow" days against their leave days.  So, if they only have 5 days accrued, they may actually be able to borrow a day or two from future leave.

Good question Gabby.. I want know.. and also what are the official holiday stand down dates for Pensacola? Do i have to wait till he gets to school to find out? His bday is the 6th but I want to get as close as possible to do something special for him.

I have a question about the leave from dec 26- jan 6. In one of my letters, my sr told me he would only have 5 days of leave saved up by then so he isn't planning on coming home. Does that time count against his leave days or does everyone get to come home regardless of how much time they have accumulated?
Comment by Dina0106 on November 7, 2012 at 12:02am

I know he has already sent me a letter providing info as to why he did not call already, I hope it's not bad. He already knows how worried I would be? lol our minds are in sync with one another, I remember when he wrote me about failing his second PFA on the running portion because his time was exactly a minute over, I freaked out. lol and the next line in Big BOLD CAPS said: "Don't worry, the third one counts, I already passed the first one. I think I was dehydrated from being overly concerned with passing my prone float test."

Which he did pass, I'm so proud of him. I never knew he had it in him:)

I hope so...I feel so stressed out for him, I wish he called this week so at least I would feel more at ease. He as supposed to call last Thurs but idk what happened.

Comment by diannep on November 6, 2012 at 11:42pm

...yes, but then he will be A SAILOR!

Comment by Dina0106 on November 6, 2012 at 11:22pm
No! I was hoping next week he would have a break, but id he's starting training on Fri or whatever, he'll be stressed out till the end.. how terrible
Comment by diannep on November 6, 2012 at 11:19pm

007/008 should be just starting training week 6 in a couple of days--.  They will be last to go through BattleStations.
