OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

diannep - Praying, praying!

I just went and looked at the link and it said that the infection was in his leg. An abscess. The blessing to it? Since the blood flow to the rest of his body from that leg isn't great it was contained there. Right now it looks like the infection did not travel. Prayers that they got it all and it did not get any further!

Okay, I am looking at martiheg's post...I am going to repost part of it and bold one part:

*...the Navy Exchange after PIR and it mentioned "I believe the grad packet the sailors get also has a 10% off coupon."*

When my son graduated he received a packet that had some coupons in it. I don't remember everything that was in it though.Don't remember using anything out of it.

So your new Sailor may receive a pre-made envelope with coupons in it.

Unless thaey have changed that. :-)

And I agree with ellen and diannep that there is no longer a Graduation Packet that is mailed to the recipint of the Form Letter.

PAmom, my son is also in that Div. and he has said nothing to me about any of that. Now I am starting to worry. My kid has always been that way too. Very quiet and not wanting to be noticed.

First and most importantly - diannep - Praying!

Second, thank you ellen0502, martiheg and diannep for the information.  I will check the site where I read it on...it sounds like it could be old information.  I am so wrapped up in the reading of everything that I forget to take that into consideration.

You ladies are awesome!!  Thank you for all your support and assistance with each of us!  :)

Urgent prayers today for Brett please. He has developed an infection and they don't know where it is---103 temp.  There is great concern for his leg at this point....he is still in danger of losing it.  After a couple of days with no sedation, they have had to sedate him again to rest and try to get this infection "captured."  The drs are referring to today as one of "great concern."  Please pray hard!  Thanks!

Good morning all! I finally got a letter from my SR! He is ship 9 div 001 (possibly moved?) i have been including sase with a sheet of paper inside it inside my letters. The first line reads "this is a good idea, and saves me tons of time and stamps" It didnt mention anything specific, but I am so relieved anyhow. He did say if their group pulls it together , they will graduate on time. He will let us know bc plane tickets are expensive! (we are driving)

I am thinking the competition is high and they are getting yelled at, but they will be fine. This experience is so good for him! He has always been a painfully shy kid, not wanting to be noticed for anything in the world. I know he must be maturing and learning pride for his group and himself. I tjink this is harder on me than him. I am surprised at myself, i never was the kind of mom that was all up in his business. I am growing and maturing too!

Oh, the postmark was Oct 22 and i got it yesterday.

Residence Inn packet is very complete and helpful!  We were happy to have it.

sabp:  I agree totally with ellen....no further info will come from RTC re: PIR.  You will download your gate pass using the password in the form letter....this will start a week from tomorrow for this group.

Good Morning!
