OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

For all of you who will be meeting your Sailors at the Airport I just posted a Fight Info Card in the discussions above. You can print it out and ask your recruit to keep it and fill it out when they get their flight info. Then after PIR when they go back to their ship before leaving with you they can grab it and give it to you. That way you have all the correct info for meeting them at the airport. You don't want to end up at the wrong one because they couldn't remember.

ZacMansMom:  007-008 are brother divisions and train together on the same schedule.  They are last in the PIR group training schedule....001-002 are probably a day or two ahead of them---lower numbered divisions start first.

Karyn:  The sailors depart from Midway and from OHare.  They will know what airport probably during PIR week.  Their flights can leave starting at 6 a.m. and going all day.  They are bussed out there early in the morning to wait for flights.

As far as the number of airlines gate passes issued, they usually will try and accommodate all if possible.  But if a sailor shows up with 20 family members needing passes, doubtful they can all get one!  But smaller-sized groups shouldn't have an issue.  Be sure to have ID...no pass without that.

They left on Saturday.

Do you know what day they left?

This is the TV interview last Friday with Brett's brother/father in Jacksonville...Brett is a miracle but still very critical (5 days after the incident).  More challenges everyday.  Thanks so much for continued prayers, ladies.

I don't know how may gate passes were issued, but I say her and her husband in the picture. Usually, I'd think the flight would leave out of O'Hare, but I have seen Sailors at Midway leaving for A school.  As for the time, it would have to depend on where their A School is located.

Good morning, all.

Mike'sMom, did your friend say how many could join the SR at the gate?

Does anyone know which airport the SR will fly out of?  Or around what time their flights usually leave?  Our flight departs out of O'Hare.

Does Div 007 and Div 008 have the same priviliges, since they are on the same ship? Does this mean "hell" week starts for all of them? My SR got a 5 min phone call on Saturday evening, he chose to use it calling his GF, but she missed the call and he said he passed a test with a 5.0 and received a phone call home. I am so proud of him.

Good Morning All - 25 days till PIR!!!

My good friend attended her son's PIR on Fri (10/19). She offered this advice...

1. Go to the Meet & Greet!

2. Get there EARLY

3. Plan on being with your SR when they fly out - you will get gate passes and will be able to wait with your child until they board.
